To kids like that, a small dodgeball match seems incredibly important and almost life or death stuff. Bill was imposing for sure, but the perspective changed when his dad entered the picture. He seems like a monster to these kids, but in reality he is not *that* much larger. Also someone in class 7 is having fun spreading rumors :D
