A fun fact about Jean! The author/mangaka of AOT created Jean to represent humanity! That's why when we first met him, he clearly showed that his only intentions were to join the Military Brigrade for safety/stability cuz irl if something like this were to ever happen, most humans aren't going to be Erens/Mikasas, instead they're going to want to survive/be fearful of the titans. Most humans are also not going to want to willingly risk their lives for someone like Eren given that nothing is well known about his powers, especially since not everyone loves Eren the way Mikasa/Armin do. But the thing with humans is that we're great at adapting, hence we evolve/learn from our situations. That's where we can see the character development in Jean. Marco even straight up says that Jean makes a great leader because he's not strong, making him very "normal," and is able to make the best out of the situations that unfold in front of him.The creator made Jean so that more of his audience will be able to relate to a character in AOT. I'm excited for you guys to see Jean's development cuz he has arguably one of the best, if not THE best, character developments in all of AOT characters! Of course, this goes to say that pretty much ALL AOT charas have great developments!
