2023-03-15 13:38:33 +0000 UTCI watched Spirited Away on Cartoon Network years ago before I really understood what anime was and it just blew my mind away as a kid and for that reason it will always have a special place in heart. There's a lot of symbolism that's hard to catch on the first watch and every time I rewatch it, I gain even more appreciation. That being said, Princess Mononoke might be tied with Spirited Away for my favorite Ghibli movie ^_^

These movies really leave it to the viewer to piece the narrative together, they use a lot of symbolism and visual storytelling. It's awesome! I'm excited for you guys to dive into more of them!
