We were actually told that Kobeni was a beast earlier. It's easy to miss because it feels like not much is happening at the time, but when they were walking through the hotel before fighting the Eternity Devil, Aki asks Himeno what she thinks about the rookies. She mentions that "Kobeni's got the moves, but she's really timid"

i feel like with kobeni's anxiety she was basically set up to fail against the eternity devil. i mean, the thing was insanely powerful and the first thing it did was shatter her mentally by making her face that she might starve to death, trapped in a hotel, doing a job she hates that she never wanted in the first place. meanwhile in this situation she can actually use her skills

@matthew b , in my opinion it’s better than saying “we’ll find out in the next episode” rather than what brando has said in his comment. Although I’m not particularly a fun of saying stuff like that it’s not really a spoiler since eventually someone or something will explain later on who does what and why they do it. Let’s just in the future refrain from saying anything that will hint or lead them into knowing they’ll find out later.

Yeah, Kobeni also said at the party her devil contract was a secret -- insinuating that she may be much stronger than she portrayed. I haven't read the manga, so no spoilers here. However, I almost wonder where if she is almost like Zenitsu from Demon Slayer in a way where she has split personalities.

Hey, i know you guys were curious about makima's power so I will help you out as i've read the manga :)! Don't worry im not going to spoil, as what im going to share has already been revealed. Essentially Makima's power was able to kill those men through the convicts, like Ron said, "life for a life" that is the contract, a third party individual must repeat the targets name for Makima to kill them, there is no negative side effect for her. Theres alot of other cool powers she has that probably wont be animated since the manga is too long for one season, but im excited to see your reactions to the horrors to come!

I watched this episode yesterday, just when I saw makima's power I realized that this woman is extremely dangerous. I see people "excited" about her, you guys are crazy, this woman is more dangerous than any creature that has appeared in anime so far. I suspect this is not going to be a good thing, she used Denji and manipulated not only him but the others, including madoka's speech made me even more worried.
