2024-11-25 20:11:54 +0000 UTCMore than just a slight nod though when you watch Conqueror of Shambala. Theyre surrounded by literal Nazi soldiers and watch the Government collapse lol. Shambala has no connection to FMA Brotherhood so figuring this isnt a spoiler. Ron yall should watch it for bonus content some time. It's interesting stuff. A seriously bold move by the animators and showrunners.

2024-11-25 16:21:05 +0000 UTCOne thing which FMAB and AoT has in common is both have sligt nods towards the 1940 Germans (idk if the comment gets censored if I use the term describing them). In AoT there was the Marley shenanigan where Eldians had to wear the armband to show they were underclass citizens like one specific ethnic group in 1940, and here in the flashback they showed Amestrians highlighted with the blonde hair and blue eyes which was the "supreme race" described by the dictator with the mustache from 1940, who also was called Führer just like in FMAB¨s leader of the military with a mustache. Other than that, I would say the European setting and main character's dad walking out the house and being mysteriously away doing his own stuff is similar, so I see some similarities but I feel like they end there.

2024-11-25 06:14:58 +0000 UTCAs you said, FMAB and AoT have so many elements in common, which is why it's perfectly reasonable to compare these two series.

2024-11-25 01:27:03 +0000 UTCThis episode was great and so sad at the same time. Poor Winry. The flashback with Scar and the other Ishvalans was great storytelling. Also love the new font of the subtitles, I didn't like the yellow before lol

2024-11-24 07:21:29 +0000 UTCThe guy that almost killed Scar in his flashback wasn't the freezing alchemist(in Ep1) but the Crimson Alchemist Kimblee(in Ep 1 8:50) who was already locked up in the prison. It is not entirely the same but there are similarities of AOT to FMA such as the tropes like what you said the 2 different sides during war/fights etc. There are similarities such as the war will not end due to the cycle of hate and revenge. FMA is similar to Naruto in that sense too.

2024-11-24 01:22:19 +0000 UTCPeople saying there arent similar themes in aot and fma are crazy when cycles of violence, war, race, morality, mental health shaped by war are heavy themes of both

2024-11-23 23:53:28 +0000 UTCβ¨Yeah, FMA and AOT aren't the same imo but I can see HOW you see that. In any case, I think it's hindsight on our part since duh, we know the end of the story. But as far themes go, yeah, you are correct! β¨One of my favorite episodes. So good. Winry seeing the backs of people she loves overlapping with others. And then same with Scar. And then Winry's hands being ones that give life.
