In the manga fugaku never had the MS, and in the novel this is adapted from he never had it. I think Its totally fine to like filler, but it's still important to recognize that they're filler.

It's been established that Shisui did indeed kill himself, otherwise the Mangekyo would not awaken. 2024-11-26 11:38:00 +0000 UTCOne underrated aspect of Itachi’s backstory is the fact that he protected the leaf by making Obito agree that the Akatsuki wouldn’t harm the leaf as long as he was alive. So not only did he kill his entire clan to save the village he also signed away his life to be apart of the Akatsuki and do whatever horrible things they wanted him to do all under the agreement that they would leave the leaf village alone. If not for Itachi the Akatsuki could have attacked the leaf well before it did and probably have gotten to Naruto while he was still a kid and too weak to defend himself

I remember the episode that it confirmed that he was dead they didn't pick up on it and therefore ever since have thought that shisui went off on his own. It's been a misconception for a while. Not a spoiler, if anything it's to not get their hopes up for something that has no chance of happening

And then he killed himself and threw himself down the cliff into the water so that Danzo couldn't get his body either. Since we already learned from Haku back then that the corpses of shinobi often contain important and secret information, it was important for Shisui to make his corpse undiscoverable when he committed suicide. A ninja of Shisui's level definitely has very important information, especially about the Uchiha clan. I know the anime doesn't make it very clear that Shisui died, that's why I'm saying this. And I know it's also perfectly fine to make assumptions, but I think if you keep believing all the time that Shisui could be still alive, it could really confuse you and be very distracting at some point.

It's stated he had "some sort of chakra illness", but a lot of people believe it stemmed from using tsukuyomi on Izumi as the time that she had to spend under genjutsu is also experienced by that genjutsu user in their mind. So essentially Itachi would experience like 80 years of physical strain in the real time space of a few seconds.
