First of all, Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the time with family! However, I am confused/concerned why we would have to wait until next week Tuesday for the One Piece drop that was supposed to be on Thursday? It feels kinda unfair that you would drop Fridays episodes regularly before covering what you missed on Wednesday and Thursday... I feel like having some reactions stock piled ahead would go a long way specifically for at least One Piece where we already only have 4 episodes a week (which by normal standards would be a lot but this series has 1100+ episodes...)

no unfortunately they usually skip the days if it passed. this is like the 4th time they put one piece out like this. Their longest show and yet has the fewest updates because of the days they happen to be on lol. Hope they triple drop it at least thought its gonna end on a cliffhanger

they're in control of the amount of work that's involved. just because it's an unserious high paying job doesn't mean there isn't a bar for performance that they have to meet. idk dude, other reaction channels seem to have figured it out by releasing pre-recorded uploads and still take time off. if they want to treat this casually idk why they just dont react for free then?

I don't recall speaking for anyone other than myself. He was expressing my opinion and I was expressing mine, I think both are fine. Obviously people are allowed to be upset when something they were anticipating doesn't end up happening, but the way he expressed his dissatisfaction was childish at best, so I felt the need to respond. I only brought up the money because other people here including kev have been mentioning it. Sure when you add all of us together, it's a lot of money. But the amount of money each individual person is paying doesn't warrant the amount of entitlement a lot of them are feeling. Like you, I might pay even more if I felt like the service was worth it. But even if I was paying more, I would still expect them to occasionally miss an upload, because it happens.

I usually don’t comment on posts like these or even uploads very often, but I do watch a lot of content every week. That being said, I felt the need to chime in, not because I think I’m right, or I have it all figured out, but because I’ve seen some discourse on this post and it seems to be controversial for the most part, so I decided to leave my 2 cents here… if anyone cares 1). Taking a break is fine, especially on a holiday, and especially when that holiday usually involves traveling, and/or family staying in one house. 2). I understand looking forward to something and feeling a type of way bc it wasn’t there when you thought it would be, I was also feeling it bc I’ve been busy with thanksgiving but thought I was gonna be able to catch up on reactions tonight. 3). It’s not just their schedule, there’s also an editor who has their own schedule, holiday traditions, family dynamic, etc. 4). It could’ve been done ahead of time, like that’s a possible thing that could have happened yeah. But again, that involves people like their editor who may edit other things for other people or their own projects and may already have a full workload and not enough time to edit another 2-3 hours of content, per day, for 2 days, on top of their other work and still maintain deadlines.. 4). To R & M, we all love you guys and value you, and appreciate your content, we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t. Thank you guys, and happy holidays

I wouldn't say it's unfair to expect the schedule to be stuck to @Jonathan, but you have to realize they are just two people and an editor. I'm not necessarily saying it's a lot of work or anything, but you have to understand that the occasional unexpected late or missed upload is going to happen. People get sick, people needs breaks, people want to spend time with their family on holidays. So while it's unfortunate, just give them some grace and move on. Again, it's 1-2 days out of the entire month that most people only paid $5 for. That's $0.32 that they "wasted". I promise that $0.32 will not hurt them, nor will the emotional damage from not seeing the reaction at the promised time.

In addition, they post multiple videos EVERY DAY. Missing an occasional upload for personal reasons or holidays is not "slacking off". I understand they are getting paid, obviously since I'm here I happen to be paying them as well. But as a reasonable human being, I understand that everyone needs to take days off every now and then. I didn't even read this post because I figured it was pretty self explanatory and not controversial, but I came back just to double check what the schedule was. The amount of entitlement and butthurt kids here is astounding. They are taking a HOLIDAY off. It doesn't matter if they COULD pre-record it and maintain their schedule. Yall are acting like pre-recording everything to get it out on time would somehow magically give them time off when they need it, but if they aren't filming anything on Thanksgiving day, doesn't that mean they would have to do extra filming either before or after to maintain the schedule? Why should they have to do more work to make up for taking a holiday off? And most of the people complaining are saying they only subscribe for One Piece or Naruto....Cool. You can access that tier for $5 a month. If you are really so pressed about missing one upload for something that only costs you $0.16 per day, you probably have more concerning things to worry about.

@gee Of course! Finding solutions as a community is important, no doubt! I certainly don't have an issue with that, and I don't think anyone who has been pushing back thinks differently. It's just the WAY in which the solutions are being presented. They're seemingly not being presented as solutions or feedback but complaints and whining (SEEMINGLY!) and then veiling it as such. Like OP's comment for instance: "it makes zero sense to me if you have pre-recorded reactions why can't you just pre-upload the videos instead of missing the upload?? Google: Yes, you can pre-upload content to Patreon by scheduling posts to publish at a later date and time. " He then posts a second comment: "will be very disappointed if there's no One Piece as it's the only show I subscribed to watch!" To me, reading this, it comes across accusatory ("why can't you"), bratty ("it makes zero sense to me"), condescending ("Google: Yes, you can pre-upload"), & entitled ("it's the only show I subscribed to watch!"). It's all a matter of tone/delivery. I think @Chase023 did a better job saying the same thing but with less of the ascribed emotions I gave. That's just what I wanna see.. lol One Piece especially.." If they drop the "or whatever" and say "can" instead of "should", this would be 100 points. Right now it's 90 points, lol. One of the few series where i think dub is nearly on par with og. Both versions are great, but i agree. Dub would be easier for them to follow (since they're watching multiple shows, and this shows info overload)

I have to agree - there a several mechanisms in place for situations like this, esp since they bulk watch. As paying customers you have every right to question why these are not being utilised. As a community (sushi squad) finding solutions through discussion is a good thing!

I hear you, fam. I understand. I'm going to be bored a little bit without the Naruto Shippuden and Black Clover uploads on Wednesday. But at the same time, I'm not worried about it too much since I know it's Thanksgiving, I got a Switch, PS5, PC to take up my time, and knowing them, they might decide to overcompensate on uploads after the holiday (they've done it before). I just know their good for it. I love their content too, but I love them as people just as much and trust them to do what's best for them, their editor, their mods, and Sushi Squad. That's it. Also, you're just coming on a little condescending with how you're "asking" about pre-recorded videos and pre-uploads (can't tell how you really feel since it's text). They know how pre-uploads work; but there may be a reason it may not work for them right now. There's a way to give solid and valid feedback without sounding whiny or condescending.

That doesn’t invalidate their need for rest—I’m just offering a different perspective. Both viewpoints can coexist without one being seen as dismissive or wrong. I never once said they should not take a holiday. creators have every right to take a break, my point was that the assumption that everyone universally relates to this specific “holiday” might not apply. And Feeling disappointed about a content pause isn’t the same as being narcissistic. Narcissism implies selfishness and a lack of empathy, and neither applies here.

I think that when they say "this is our job" (they’ve mentioned it several times), they’re reinforcing the expectations of the followers on this platform. As “customers,” we naturally want a schedule and expect it to be followed. It’s a show, and even though it’s only five dollars, as customers, we expect that service to be provided. I understand that there are emergencies or vacations, but on other platforms, they have two people upload content to keep everything flowing smoothly. I don’t think they’re fully appreciating this perspective. For example, I’m only following one show (Naruto). If that show is cut off or delayed for some reason, my experience won’t be good because I’m only watching one thing. So if that gets delayed, it’s not a very pleasant experience. Despite all these management issues, I really enjoy Ron & Ginger’s reactions, but honestly, it would be nice if they could consider these suggestions or viewpoints. We don’t want them to just react to videos. It’s a matter of organization, and maybe having a team of editors instead of just one person. These are suggestions, not comments with hate or negativity. I'm assuming because editing is a thing and their editor is taking time off too. And then their mods who might handle the uploads could be taking off too. Maybe there is travel, and packing, and of course, during Thanksgiving and Christmas, no one's going to do WORK while with family. It's best to let the work rest and come back to it after the holiday. They're not a huge television production team with hundreds of people working around the clock to ensure there is holiday programming. I promise, you won't die or anything if you miss uploads.

I understand your opinions and your arguments very well and I'm really only referring to a few people because I've read some very disrespectful comments and wrote my comment out of disappointment and emotion, but as long as the criticism is constructive and respectful I have no problem with it and this is also important for a good exchange. That's why I'm writing that the most important thing for me is respect but also empathy and I want to mention again that the two of them upload very consistently and reliably throughout the year with the exception of events that you can't influence and in this case holidays. I thought it was known that the schedule changes over the holidays but if it was unclear then you should definitely note this on the schedule or announce it in good time so that it is communicated clearly and fairly and so that the subscribers know what to expect. I agree with you there. I apologize if i have offended anyone and I definitely don't want to present my opinion as the only correct one. Thank you for your answers, have a nice holiday!

We appreciate you being here, bc we know you dont have to, but to say were not consistent is kinda insane to me! Sure the past few months there are missed uploads from time to time, and days off for special occasions (holidays, family emergencies etc) but we are and have been consistently uploading for the past 3 years. People just tend to remember the missed uploads, and not the 90% of the time we are uploading consistently. i get why you or anyone is mad/upset though. you have every right to have expectations when you spend $5 or $10 a month to support a creator. I just needed to address the belief that we are not consistent.

some people really need to learn to calm down, be respectful and empathetic and, above all, use their heads. they have a pretty fixed schedule of uploads that they have to stick to in order to keep things in order and to please every fan of the different series (which is difficult anyway). compare it to streaming providers like Netflix or Crunchyroll, where simulcasts also come out on fixed days and the customer knows that, especially if they only subscribe for certain series, there is a schedule that everyone can see. so you know what to expect, the only difference here is that the two are normal people who also have a right to take a break on holidays or other events like regular people and, to stay with the analogy, streaming services also often have breaks until a new episode comes out (like the One Piece anime at the moment). Come on guys, the two of them always give us good reactions and during the holidays love and understanding should be spread (ideally always), above all we know that they have had to go through a lot recently, so I appeal to your good nature. Take the time and thank you for the great reactions!
