Blue Lock - S2 Episode 9

Comments

I would love to see Ron’s reaction to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic highlight reel (and his fiery attitude lmao) or Ronaldinho’s playfulness 🔥 they should definitely do a soccer highlight reaction to someone crazy

yo ron, i think you got your bit with dragging someones else dream down a bit confused for this episode, while your technically not wrong in saying Sae dragged Rin's dreams down (assuming your bit after the ep was about the ep and not just in general) Rin's original dream was to be the second best to Sae but as you saw in the ep, Sae clearly states there are far better players out there (presumably strikers) and has changed his dream to be the best midfielder. The bit i think your confusing is when Sae's says our dream, cause he gave Rin an alternative to strive as Sae being the best in the world is not possible too Sae atm and that he cannot look up to Sae for his dream since well he just cant seem to find a world where is the best striker in the world now im not saying this is how its supposed to be viewed but i will give my thoughts on their story bit around their 1v1. Sae has just come back and to his brother saying he can be the best striker and Sae will be the best midfielder, this i think is important because RIn's dream as we know is to be second best to Sae, but i dont think sae saying our dream will end is bad thing to be said here, Rin's dream would have to be updated just a bit as without Sae, it literally cannot be completed because he wants to be second to Sae, if anything Rin's is kinda the one to push his dream onto someone else, saying you have to be number 1 striker when Sae has already witnessed something that probably isnt within his grasp and now Sae has obviously changed his dream, and tbh Sae never really once put down RIn up until the end, at the end he (from what we see) basically cut ties with his little brother. Now although this seems such an asshole thing to do, Rin's dream has been so emotionally tied to Sae that he will not give up the dream of Sae being number 1 and Rin being 2, i think this was a very powerful thing, at least in my eyes because although he put Rin in quite the depression as seen, Sae sacrificed his bond (in terms of regular siblings bonds) to push Rin into a better position of being the best striker in the world (sort of a headcannon on how i view it of course and obviously very dramatic cause its anime and irl you would discuss this longer and explain it and work it out)

That rain doll from the additional time is like the costume they use for the rain girl business in weathering with you

Ben

It's funny because the voice actors literally say Real lol

The Music during the whole Aiku, Sae, and the rest of the U-20 members was so good. The build up to Shidou and the way he’s standing there after Isagi and Rin walk out just gets me so hyped. Ego saying “this is where the match truly begins” sent straight chills. CANT WAIT FOR SATURDAY TO GET HERE.

”Don’t use me as an excuse to play soccer”. I’m with Sae on that one. I think Sae has good intentions deep down.

I really believe that Sae just wants Rin to follow his own dream, like not letting his dream revolve around someone else. Because if you see again the scene where Rin leaves his toys to hit that volley, he says 'can I be the best striker in the world too?', in that moment Rin was flowing a hundred percent he was in the zone. I think that deep inside, Rin's true dream is to be the best but he is being controlled by his emotions, and Sae feels and knows that. I feel like Sae just wants the best for his brother, like him following his own egoist dream. its a shitty way to do it but yeah

And you know something.. :) .... *HE Never will*

The crazy thing is... until the last bit, Sae is 100% right. As a football fan, blue lock pisses me off because the it's the least realistic showing of what football is as a sport at its core. Blue Lock seems to try and portray that the only position that's interesting or matters is a striker and that's just the dumbest way you could write the story because the strikers are most of the time the people who rely on the others around them to do all the work. Take an Erling Haaland for example, he thrives in Man City's team because he has some of the best playmakers in the world feeding him through balls and crosses. Yes it's unbelievable that he takes his chances so consistently but every single goal scoring opportunity is created by his wingers/midfielders. Sae wanting to become the best midfielder in the world actually BENEFITS Rin because if sae becomes a world class playmaker, and rin becomes a world class striker, they'd be able to feed off each other better than anyone else in the world. Rin has it all wrong. Sae obviously took it too far at the end though, but everything up until the insults was 100% correct.

Come on, Ron, for me it's exactly like the relationship between Itachi and Sasuke. Sae became a midfielder because midfielders empower strikers, as he couldn't become the best in the world alone. But with his little brother being the best striker and him the best midfielder, they can win the World Cup and become the best in the world together.

We definitely got a couple moments like this in the first season like bachira and chigiri, but the blue lock backstories are always great. Everybody has some type of trauma then isagi is just from a loving two parent household 🤣.

Damn, I want a cookie, rewinding 😂

Prateek Sridhar

Crazy thing is now you see less strikers and more attacking midfielders or wingers.

ClassRelic

Rin can't beat sae bc he doesn't have enough hate

I randomly played this on my street when I saw some people playing, we were all over the street not knowing actual court is way smaller lol

Lemmiwnks

oh, I totally agree! It’s my fault to make it seem like I’m blaming rin alone because I understand his feelings and Sae could -and should- have handled it better than what he did ^^;

I find it interesting that Rin and Sae both still found something of a "replacement" for each other. Sae has Shido, and it seems Shido is exactly how Sae imagines Rin, his little brother to be. A guy who only thinks about himself and his own goals and doesn't care about others, a true egoist. And Rin now has Isagi, and I think Isagi is exactly how he wants Sae to be as his big brother. Someone who challenges him but supports him at the same time. I think Rin likes Isagi and likes to play soccer with him too, but just doesn't want to admit it 😅 And I think the message that Sae Rin wants to give is that he should no longer be like Sae, but like himself and should also start playing soccor for himself because he wants to and not because he wants to be like his brother. I think that's why Sae said, "Don't ever use me as an excuse to play soccer." Well, I actually think this advice is good, but how Sae said it, is definitely damn wrong 😅 But I'm sure Sae has a reason why he's suddenly so cold hearted and turned into an asshole. I hope we learn more about his experiences in Spain. And I can't wait to see Shido back in action. I actually really like him 😅

Of course, not only Sae but also Rin behaved a bit wrong. Sae had said that he has changed his dream and now wants to become the best midfielder in the world rather than the best striker. And he also suggested to Rin that he could become the best midfielder and Rin could become the best striker in the world, so that both could end up being the best at something. And yes, you can say that Rin kind of wanted to force Sae to keep his "old" dream. But blaming Rin alone is definitely not right. I think Rin was just shocked and hurt by the fact that Sae had given up on his original dream (to become the best striker in the world). After all, for Rin, Sae was always the strong big brother who never lost and never gave up, and Sae himself had told Rin to never give up. That's why it was definitely a shock for Rin to hear that. And he probably felt very hurt because of the fact that it wasn't just Sae's dream but also Rin's, it was their shared dream. And Sae just threw it away and replaced it. Rin probably also felt like Sae had thrown him away along with their dream. And Sae also kinda forced Rin to finally forget their dream, if he loses the one-on-one against him. And he only would chase after their old dream again, if Rin wins. So, basically both brothers kinda tried to force their dream on each other, it wasn't just Rin

Star Wars day so hype

Tre

Rin has to beat his brother and awaken the Mangekyou

Delinger

normalize uploading this early if you can 🙏

josh

I think it had to do with licensing why they had to call the academy that sae went to “Royale”. In real life it’s an actual club called Real Madrid

Ygjez

shidou my second favorite character after niko😙

B

i might be biased but didn't rin do the exact same thing you told sae not to do? sae said that he didn't dream of being the best striker anymore but he'd still help rin to be one, and rin said that his (rin's) dream was to be the second-best striker with his brother as the best? if anything isn't rin the one to push his - or i guess their dream - on sae? 😭

nj
