I'm very happy to announce that the video for episode 19 is now complete. I want to thank everyone for your patience in waiting for this one. It has been a huge task putting together a video at nearly 7 hours long, and my personal goal was to do it in 100 days - one I narrowly achieved with about 4 days to spare!
We've been able to bring a huge amount of resources to bear on this production, licensing some lovely older footage from the BBC that has now been lovingly upscaled and remastered. We've also brought in the historical artist Joseph Feely from the channel History Dose to do some digital paintings of various climactic scenes. And for the first time Fall of Civilizations shot its own original reenactment footage, on location in Mongolia. The footage took two days to film, with twenty actors, four horses, two cameras and a drone - and I'm honestly thrilled with how it looks. Added to that we have the usual mix of premium stock footage and drone photography that makes this in my view the best looking Fall of Civs so far.
As always I'm so grateful to everyone who has contributed to the show over the years, and allowed it to grow to become what it is today. I hope this early peek at the episode is enough of a thank you. You are also something of a test audience who gets to see the episode before everyone else - so do let me know if you see or hear anything that doesn't look right. More than once an eagle-eyed patron has caught something and saved me some embarrassment before I release to YouTube.
