1) The guy with the diamond in his forehead you are referencing is Mars and he killed his friend, who is not Vanessa 2) The ritual they use is just to find the strongest fighters and implement the magic stones in their forehead to make them stronger, but they fused Mars and his friends magic because her magic was strong, in order to make the strongest warrior.
