VOTE for the next bonus playthrough!

The suggestions are in, the candidates are chosen and now it's voting time!

The Candidates

South of Midnight (trailer)

Compulsion Games's latest narrative action game looks absolutely gorgeous and I love the choice of setting. Spoiler: this game is going in the Best Game Animation 2025 video for sure.

Horizon Forbidden West  (trailer)

Horizon Zero Dawn was the first bonus playthrough y'all selected when this Patreon began! I've been slow in getting around to the sequel, but perhaps now is the time?

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (trailer)

This French RPG has been blowing up and I am very excited to see what the fuss is about!

Pseudoregalia (trailer) (one-off episode)

It sounds like this N64-styled metroidvania platformer has been expanded considerably since we did that one-off way back when, and I'd happily go back for a full playthrough.

Super Paper Mario (trailer)

I actually love this one's 2D/3D gimmick and I could definitely go for another Paper Mario bonus playthrough!

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (trailer)

It has been ages since I played one of these silly strategy RPGs. (Warning: we will definitely not level any character to 9,999, you can't make me).

Animal Well  (trailer)

I have heard nothing but extreme praise for this indie puzzle metroidvania. The rabbit hole on this one apparently goes very deep indeed.

Blue Prince (trailer)

Speaking of rabbit holes, here's another one we could fall down! The praise I've heard for this roguelite puzzle game is bonkers.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical  (trailer)

I mean how often do you get a game that is also a musical.

Nine Sols  (trailer)

It's a 2D souls-y (or Sekiro-y?) metroidvania, and this one is apparently hard as nails! But Jacob Geller keeps singing its praises, and the man has exceptional taste. How hard could it be?

In Stars and Time (trailer)

I am seeing Undertale vibes and I am intrigued.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (trailer)

I've heard entirely too much praise for this adventure/puzzle game (and its pixel animation), so maybe it's time to actually play the thing?

CrossCode  (trailer)

This cult hit keeps on getting suggested by a surprising number of patrons!

Hitman: World of Assassination  (trailer)

I've been meaning to do a playthrough of these murder-comedy games for years, and now the latest trilogy is all in a convenient bundle! I'm guessing we'd probably just start with the contents of Hitman 1? We'll see!

Metroid Prime Remastered  (trailer)

I haven't played a Metroid Prime in years and this remaster sounded fantastic. Perhaps it's time for a revisit!

Citizen Sleeper (trailer) (one-off episode)

We did a one-off of this tabletop-esque narrative game and I'd happily go back for the rest.

Metal Gear Solid (trailer)

Is it time to crack the Kojima seal on PlayFrame? Do we dare?

Death's Door  (trailer)  (one-off episode)

I did a one-off of this one years back too and it was great! Kinda like Tunic, but with considerably more birb.

Vote Time!

As always, you can choose multiple options, so click on all the games you're most interested in. I'm excited to see what y'all pick!

(Also, just a reminder: this playthrough won't start until sometime after Pyre is wrapped up!)

Comments

Someone else mentioned that Clair Obscur should be a main playthrough and I tend to agree. It's got an extensive story behind its animations and presentation, there's a lot to pick apart in terms of its visual style... think about it. (:
