Took 40 years to complete, he used his own peoples as slaves and worked them to death, cut down ancient trees of the Forrest that were actually deposits of souls that had passed in the Forrest and stood for over 3000 years and used them as beams for his walls, and it wasn’t built to do anything other than be the biggest castle to exist. And just to add to the irony, Aegon showed up just as they finished building it, like, literally the morning they finished it, that afternoon…Aegon the conqueror showed up, with THE Balerion.
