Christmas Mass Ghost
Added 2017-07-10 17:09:28 +0000 UTCI'll be posting some stuff from my archive of photos as regularly as I can muster now, and I'm starting off with this guy. Some years ago I was planning to make a film with my uncle, adapted from a very well-known Swedish folktale. It's about about how the dead celebrate Christmas mass a few hours before the living, very early in the morning. A farm maid believing she has overslept arrives too early, and is chased out of the church by the very nasty-looking dead.
My idea was to create the dead using stop-motion, but I only built this one puppet before we decided to shelve the project. I may still come back to it eventually. It's a pretty darn cool tale, with lots of opportunities for creepy visuals.
