MyRobot Development Part 62

This week:

AI Additions

In the 2.5 weeks left leading to the first release I've been polishing and adding various AI features. As shown in the video, you can now assign names to robots and have that tag be visible on the robot. This was a simple and cute change. Of course as soon as any robot body part gets detached, its label changes right back to whatever it was, it's only when you attach it to a functioning robot that it actually gets overwritten.

I also added local hosting text support for token services. So if you have an API token for your own OpenAI account (or whatever service), you can use that to generate text without using my services.

Release Playtesting

So so busy. Anytime you develop a game and you want to release it, the days leading up to a release are when push comes to shove, which of course causes the dreaded development crunch. I've been super good with my time allotment and have scheduled this project perfectly with time to spare for bugfixing and polish leading to its release this June 21st (the first release).

There are a couple last last last outstanding details I need to add but surprisingly enough the one feature that I left for last is a title screen. That's right I still haven't started that yet! It's possible I will add it in the next release but we'll see. Development progress can be uncertain and spontaneous right now and I need to be careful I don't miss anything.

There will NOT be a development post next week due to the release of the game on June 21st (making development videos eats a few hours and I am on ration mode right now). I will however be making a new youtube video with the new song.

I'm really excited!
