This week:
Forest Biome
Water Shader
Forest Biome

This is the last biome for the June release, although there is still a beach, ocean, and artic tundra biome coming for the release after that.
The forest biome inspiration was taking from Japan and California mountains. There are lots of flowery patches and trees surrounding large bodies of water. Water by the way is a hazard! Your robot cannot touch it! It will malfunction, so your best bet to cross these watery regions is by either using speed to ramp off a hill or use the balloon gun arm.
The story ends on one of the mountains on the other side of the river. There will be a small cabin with some props and important story assets. This will be added this coming week.
Another thing I'd love to add is easter eggs at night. Traveling the mountains at night is full of opportunity to add character events to scare your robot. Should work very well with AI as well.
Water Shader
The water shader uses vertex colors that are painted automatically by Blender Python scripts to simulate shorelines. It was tricky to set up a workflow but the entire shoreline is now automated in the event I modify the mountain terrain.
Anyways as I mentioned before, water is bad for your robot. However you the player are fine jumping in for a swim. But, there will be something dangerous underwater! You will need to cooperate with your robot to solve it. Details on this next week.
June release is approaching. It's going to be an enormous and massive update to MyRobot! I'll finish the story and biome stuff this month followed by some more character behaviours and polish.
Stay tuned!
