Young people in Spain do not have it easy when it comes to finding a job. According to abc.es, 27.4% of all working-age young people under the age of 25 in Spain are unemployed.
Up to the average age of 29.8 (women 28.9; men 30.8; source: bankinter.com), young people still live with their parents - surely one of the reasons why Spain, together with Italy, has the lowest birth rate in Europe and why sexual activity is so low despite the proverbial hot-bloodedness of the cheerful Spaniards. Who wants to indulge in passion when mom is listening in behind the door, but an apartment of one's own remains an unaffordable dream?
Sometimes Danielle, like so many pretty girls, works outside discos at night to lure customers in. Others work inside as so-called "image girls" whose job it is to create the impression that the disco is full of pretty solo girls and to lure adventure-hungry men into the expensive VIP compartments, flirt with them and get invited for expensive drinks before they disappear into the office shortly before closing time to draw the ridiculous salary and the supposedly successful conqueror learns that his flirt was in fact none...
One tries everything possible. Danielle successfully completed a course as a flight attendant, but apart from the cost of the course, it had no effect. She has trained as a beautician, but she has not found a job because of it.
But it was fun for her to offer me a free pedicure session, which of course I gladly accepted.
I hardly think it was my huge feet that had such an exciting effect on Danielle. Anyway, afterwards my feet were tender and fine (well, as tender and fine as they can be) and the treatment ended really satisfying, as the snapshots in this private series show.
Maybe I should visit a cosmetic institute from time to time?
