The windows of my closest neighboring apartments are only between 8 and 11 meters away (I just measured it with my laser meter, so I'm not saying anything wrong here...) and since I rarely close the curtains, the view into my studio salon would actually be optimal - if you like naked girls.
In fact, it's one of my old jokes - you know how old men like to repeat their corny jokes once they've earned a smile - that I tell a model I have to collect from the neighbors for the show before I can pay her the fee...
Well, I said "would be optimal" because actually there is practically never anyone in the apartments vis-a-vis. I think they are tourist apartments (a hot hint?), but probably very expensive because of the location, so they rarely seem to be occupied. In Barcelona I had a lot more neighbors (and even bigger windows), but a bit further away.
Incidentally, one of the ironies of life is that, as an old voyeur, I would always have secretly liked to live somewhere where pretty young women live opposite, who know full well that I am watching them and therefore walk around naked in their apartment all the time. But fate, which is usually so kind to me, never wanted to grant me this wish. Those who live opposite me are luckier in this respect. In case they're interested.
Well, in this photo session I asked Molly to undress at the window. My idea was that she imagines that there is a young man living opposite who she likes and she is actually undressing for him because she knows that he is standing behind the curtain watching her...
And I watch her as she lets herself be watched and how the knowledge that the man opposite is enjoying the secret sight of her arouses her.
Molly enjoyed the idea, but of course she's not an actress, so the result of the photos taken with the natural light from the window and without flash didn't quite meet my expectations, even though it's quite nice to watch her gradually expose her chubby, youthful body.
I asked her to get dressed again, this time without underwear, and to undress again. But this time she was even less focused on the window than on me.
Although it is often nice and desirable for me if the model looks directly at me or looks directly into the camera, I often want her not to do that - especially in this case with the story of the secret observer.
But models who are not used to being photographed (i.e. basically the models I like best) almost inevitably look at me. Mainly, I think, to get confirmation from me that they're doing it "right" (sometimes also to check whether I'm reacting the way they think a man should, given their charms...).
I then try all sorts of things to get her to look away from me. Tell stories that distract her, or give direct instructions: look who's standing to your left; oh, I think there's something on the ceiling; close your eyes and imagine....
Well, obviously this worked better in the first few photos than in the second undressing, which she clearly did for me (and now for you!).
It wasn't what I had originally imagined and since she was facing me instead of the window, where the light was coming from and which I wanted to use to emphasize her charms hidden in the dark forest, everything turned out a little differently than expected.
I also didn't want to intervene too much with instructions during the session to push through my idea. That would only have led to a loss of spontaneity and also the good mood and her shy security if I constantly made her understand that I wanted her to be different.
Sometimes you just have to put your own ideas on the back burner and take what you're offered. In principle, I think that's one of the typical characteristics of my photography. And I think the pictures have their charm. See for yourself if you like them.
