Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful week!
First of all this week I created the "special" baby formula which can be give to babies who are in the incubator through tube feeding.π

Sims will prepare the formula the way they always do but the bottle will be pink to make it distinguishable
Once you have the bottle in your sim's inventory you can then give it to the baby
Sims will get one of few moodlets, some are happy

and some are sad, sims should be more likely to get the sad moodlet if their baby isn't doing very well
I also added a glow effect to the baby incubators to indicate the condition of the baby. Red means they are in need of special care and they are on the weaker side physically, yellow means they are recovering and blue means they are healthy. Im not sure if the glow effect is the best way to go about this yet and Im still trying to explore different options.

sims cannot hold their baby if the baby is in the read zone, as they baby is too weak to be handled

Sims can hold babies if they are in the yellow zone, however they will only hold them for 10-15 minutes instead of the usual 30-40 minutes.

and there's a chance the baby might not react well to being handled, causing them to stay longer in the yellow zone or even revert to red
if you hold a baby who is in the blue zone you will get one of a couple of moodlets afterwards
(to-do for next week)
the idea is that if the baby is premature or are born with certain health conditions they will spend longer in the red/yellow zone(max 2-3? days). and once they are in the blue zone your sim will be able to check out of the hospital and go home. And having the baby in the red zone will make the experience more stressful for the parents and make them sad. And when the baby 's condition improves it will make the parents more hopeful and positive.
many of you suggested singing to the baby as a possible interaction, I will be looking into it next week!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! π
