Modding Diary - Early Induction and Placental Abruption

 Hi guys! I hope you all are well!

First of all this week I made some scripting optimization, and if I did a good job you should not notice any difference at all when the update comes out lol😝

Then I worked on elective early inductions for sims who are having multiples.

Your sim will get a notification like this when they get an ultrasound

 and in the third trimester you will have this option to go for an early induction when calling the obstetrician.

You will go to the hospital immediately and give birth after receiving a working epidural

you will then give birth as usual via c-section

Then I worked on giving sims placental abruptions🫥

your sim might get moodles saying they are spotting during their first trimester. which may or may not result in them having placental abruption

Placental abruption will not be detected on ultrasound. While I was doing research, it appears that most(almost every?) women who had placental abruption were not able to get any diagnosis from their doctor prior to them going into labor unexpectedly.

if your sim does experience placental abruption, you will see a pool of blood suddenly appearing at their feet 

 which will send them to premature labor

the doctor will confirm they need to be induced immediately

while your sim is at the hospital they will continue to experience pain and bleeding occasionally until they give birth

  when they give birth their baby will go into the incubator

bug fix/workaround:

Right now if you try to go home after your sim gave birth either through the "go Home" interaction or the house icon on the bottom left you are bound to get a Last exception. If you do not have BE installed your sim will simply reset without going home

Unfortunately this is a bug with the game, and I believe it was introduced during the infant patch if I remember correctly. I dont have a way to fix it right now with my level 2 scripting skills

but I did make my own "Go Home(with the icon)" interaction that works differently than the one from the game and it will send your sim home after a short delay. I know this is not idea and its gonna be confusing having two "Go Home" interactions 😔But this is the best I can do right now.

IMPORTANT

As always, all these pregnancy complications can be turned off or on manually, there are no penalties or consequences for not going to the hospital when your sim goes into labor prematurely. I believe people should be able to play the game however they want and I try to avoid forcing any type of game play onto anyone

The Release date for this update is set to be at the end of this month. I still have a few things I need to tidy up and I still want to make postpartum family visit that allows other sims to visit your at the hospital. I know you all have been waiting patiently which I really appreciate 🥺🫶🫶The wait is almost over!!
