Anytime my faith was ‘tested’ I would think and reread those stories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. You’re nervous to pray before lunch, how dare you! You don’t feel right evangelizing your peers, fuck off! These people died for their faith. I remember bawling when reading (and rereading) that book. Thinking that if I truly loved god it would be an honor to die for him/my faith but I also being so scared. Oh a side note, I love the pod more than I have the ability to say and am so grateful for you both. Incredible storytelling, humor, insight, compassion and vulnerability. You two should be so proud of the work you’re doing. Thank you for sharing it with us. Drew I am so sorry that your family reacted how they did when they found out about the awful things that had happened to you. I can very much relate to that. I know it takes a very long time to even start to heal from SA and the ripple effect of the people that are closest to us that don’t show up in the ways they should. You are such an incredible soul. Fuck them-they’re missing out on you. Grant I feel like you would make an incredible professor and or therapist.
