Upcoming Content Preview (Text)

Hi! I'm going to try something new today. I'll be posting a preview of upcoming content, except you'll get a different preview depending on your Patreon tier.

$3: A text description of the upcoming content.
$5: A screenshot of the upcoming content.
$10: A 70-second video of the upcoming content.

Although I am currently focusing on polishing Amai's week, I've already started requesting the assets that I'll need for Kizana's week, and those assets are gradually coming in. Recently, I received a very important asset: The building that the player will infiltrate in Kizana's Befriend/Betray stealth mission!

I won't spoil the nature of the building - who owns it, what kind of business is conducted here, etc - but, I'll tell you a few things about it:

It's four stories tall. The ground floor is the reception area, the top floor is dedicated almost entirely to the CEO's extravagant office, and the two floors in-between are for business.

One security guard will patrol outside of the building. A receptionist will be present at the reception desk. The CEO and two of his employees will be present in the building, and will be a threat to the player.

There will be four ways to enter the building: Front door, back door, 2nd floor window, third floor window, and fourth floor balcony. You'll have to find a way to lure the receptionist away from the reception desk if you want to get past her without being stopped. Entering through the fourth floor is the most direct way to reach your target, but requires you to infiltrate an adjacent building. Entering through either of the two windows will require you to stack things to make a makeshift stairway and then perform some climbing/parkour, like in Amai's Befriend/Betray stealth mission.

The environment outside of this building will be smaller than the environment of Amai's Befriend/Betray stealth mission. This was a deliberate decision; Amai's stealth mission was waaaaay too big, and took a tremendous amount of time and work to implement. However, the environment outside of this building will still be larger than the environment outside of the stalker's house in Osana's stealth mission.

If you watch the video, you'll notice a few mistakes in the environment, such as stairs intersecting with windows. Don't worry; these mistakes will be corrected before Kizana is released.

Like the environment for Amai's stealth mission, this environment was paid for with your Patreon donations! Your support continues to enable the game's development to continue!

Thank you for supporting the development of Yandere Simulator!

I already know what all of the 202X canon eliminations will be. However, I would prefer to not spoil them.

YandereDev

Are you thinking about the canon rivals elimination? I mean, I wish that Osana, Amai and Kizana will have a pacific elimination.

I understand the logic and reasoning here. However... Some of the feedback I hear the most often is that the Amai's week feels "cheap" because it lacks voice acting. Sadly, I have to admit that I wholeheartedly agree with this feedback. I really can't stand the game without voice acting. It feels essential. So, I don't think I'll be willing to delay the addition of voice acting for very long.

YandereDev

Sorry for being out of topic and a bit late but I think voice acting should probably be the very last thing you do before the game is complete. If a voice actor leaves and then you need to change or add even a single line to the respective character's dialog you need to re-record every line of that character from scratch.

Dan

I can understand how this feature could be convenient, but it would be kind of a hassle to implement, since I'd need to add a "choose what item to bring to school" window, and I can't tell how much I'll want that window to change in the future. Having it in two scenes would be kind of an annoyance, since I'd have to develop a system for making sure that both versions are always consistent with one another.

YandereDev

I had a suggestion regarding the town, I feel like It’d be much better and easier if there was an option to go to school from town. Like the opposite way towards the right from where you spawn in.

Juno

At this point in time, I'm primarily focusing on bug fixes. I still haven't gotten through my backlog of bug reports. Once all of the bugs are fixed, then I'll start thinking about "cosmetic" features, such as rival hair updates.

YandereDev

Hey yandere dev, I know it's off topic but when are you going to release the new amai and kizana's hair models shown in the discord's community poll?

Raynsel

Honestly, I think that the primary advantage of joining the student council would be that it would give the player more options during Megami's week, and it wouldn't be very useful outside of that week. It could have a handful of other advantages, but absolutely not "completely immune to losing reputation." It would probably be okay to carry weapons while you're a council member, since people would just assume that you're transporting a lost object back where it belongs. However, "reputation can't drop at all for any reason" is too powerful of an advantage.

YandereDev

what about joining the student council? could that let you change the rest of the student councils routine and not be able to get negative reputation as the rest of the school fears you in a way?

Juno

I have not begun work on Kizana's week. Just collecting the assets I'll need for her week.

YandereDev

Interesting thought. I can consider it, but I'm not ready to promise it just yet.

YandereDev

What if there was a feature where you could somehow turn the bullies against Musume and make Hoshiko the leader which would cause the bully gang to become more violent making it easier for your rival to withdraw even if her reputation is above -100

Baby Crystal

also off topic, but how much off kizanas week would you say you’re finished with? (not mentioning all the features you want to implement before kizanas added into the game)

Juno

When imagining the benefit of joining the bully gang... * Ability to make students do favors for you without befriending them first. Similar to the "Intimidate" feature that comes from joining the Delinquents. * Gossip does twice as much damage to a student's reputation * Students become afraid to say negative things about you since they worry about your retaliation, so all reputation loss is cut in half. These are the basic things I can easily imagine without much thought. However, I'm open to suggestions for other potential benefits.

YandereDev

Hey do you know what the benefit to ayano joining musume’s bully gang would be? Like she would be able to get to class late if she was part of the student council

Baby Crystal

Depends on how people feel about it. If a tremendous number of people are opposed to it, it might not stay. However, I *DO* need to offer greater rewards to the people who are donating more than $3...

YandereDev

Will this be a permanent change? $3 - just text $5 - a screenshot and $10 - a video

Benjamin

Some of those features can be added to the game within 24 hours. Other features on that list would probably take a week - at least - to implement.

YandereDev

hey this is off topic but related to your recent blog post. if one feature is put on the number one spot in the survey by the majority of people how long would you estimate it would take to add in that feature? such as joining the bully gang or the student council club?
