Happy Friday, everyone! Another Friday means another episode of Visionaries and this week, we were joined by fellow podcaster and nerd Joanna Robinson, the co-host of The Ringer's House of R podcast and author of the new book, "MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios."
Joanna joined me on the show this week to discuss the meteoric rise of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which she covers in her new book. For those unfamiliar, Marvel went from bankruptcy and having to sell off movie rights to the likes of the X-Men, Hulk and Spider-Man in the 90's and 2000's, to by 2013, being the most dominant force at the box office post-Avengers.
Now, after 15 years of dominating theaters across the globe, Marvel Studios is faced with a series of unprecedented challenges — from IP fatigue to dealing with allegations of domestic violence surrounding the actor behind multiversal big bad Kang the Conqueror, Jonathan Majors. We took on this and a lot more in this new episode! Would love y'all's thoughts after listening.
