Final Fantasy 6 - Lines + Underpainting

So here's where I'm at today! This took a lot longer than I thought, mostly because I'm trying to stick to accurately recreating Amano's designs while also integrating the sprite designs/colors and hopefully bringing them all together as one. At this stage I've just colored the line work from the previous post and added textures to the whole thing as well. The next step will be painting it all. One aspect I haven't really touched at all is the red/gold background. I plan on doing a design in the gold that will incorporate some more elements that are FF6 centric, I just haven't decided on what exactly will go there.

I LOVE this version...The final is gorgeous as well but the unfinished linework here feels SO amano. Straight from the imagination.

Did you paint directly in Clip as usual, or did you take it to Photoshop and colorise the greys ale like you did with the later parts of the MGS piece?
