Asuka - WIP + Rei & Asuka comparison image

Hope you're doing well and hello to all of the new patrons that just recently subscribed on here, I'm waving to you in real time. I'll be putting up another basics video tomorrow morning - but in the meantime, I wanted to share the current progress of the Asuka Langley piece I've been working on. Asuka is mostly complete, I still have some work to do on little details and softening some areas, but in general this will be the look unless something stands out to me when I revisit it tomorrow.
I also included an image I did to basically see if Asuka was at least as finished as Rei was, I did this by just dropping them into a composition together to see if either stood out as too rough. I think they're looking pretty good together so that was a relief!
Now that Asuka is pretty much done I can move onto Unit 02, that should be relatively easy as Asuka was definitely the most difficult aspect of this illustration.
Look forward to the next Basics video shortly, in this one I cover how I approach and sketch various compositions for a cover illustration.
