Hey!
Hope you're well! I wanted to do a follow up to the previous Basics video on composition because I felt that I didn't really cover enough ground on different approaches and simplified breakdowns of possible compositions. In this video I touch on a variety of work that I've done over the past year and show how I use shape and design to move the eye throughout the piece and take what could potentially be an overly busy piece and make it easily readable as a viewer.
Here are the composition types covered - Cover art, Magic the Gathering card, One character comps, Multiple character comps and montage style illustrations.
Please let me know if you have any questions about my approach to these cover or if you'd like me to go into more depth on a topic I touched on briefly.

Hi Dave. I'm getting a lot out of your Basics series. Thank you! I've got a request: Can you make a video walkthrough with different examples of studies you used to do? I would love to see how you set up and approach a still life. It would also be cool if you could demonstrate an anatomy exercise, and a photo study or some other helpful type of practice I haven't mentioned. I'm not new to this stuff, but I really enjoy seeing how more advanced artists tackle these things.
