Digital Sketchbook Style - video w/full commentary

Hey!
So, today I wanted to touch on how I'm doing those concept sheets for the manga. This style is mostly a sketch in photoshop with slight refinement followed by some colors done in clip studio with final adjustments completed in photoshop. I like this style and approach because of the speed and the final look of it all - it feels traditional and a little warmer than I've been able to get across before. Things are a bit different this time around - I've been using Kyle T Webster's "Perfect Pencil" brush to do the initial pencils for all my sketches.

I found it in the megapack, it's in a folder called drawing box, there is perfect pencil 1 and 2 Link Below https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/brushes.html

2020-11-26 03:04:22 +0000 UTCI wonder if partly the reason your traditional-looking work gets more interest is because it’s easier for people to understand and respect the work that goes into them. Almost everyone has picked up a pencil and made a mark on a piece of paper at some point, so they have a basis to go off. Perfect digital pieces are harder to understand the work that goes into them maybe? Also seeing famous characters drawn in a “media” people haven’t seen them in before might also have something to do with it. It’s interesting!

Not sure if you know this already but CSP has a native pen pressure controller via File > Pen Pressure Settings and I adjusted mine that way so I can retain my default tablet settings for Photoshop.

2020-11-05 07:36:57 +0000 UTCGot it figured out. For anyone working on iPad Pro, these Kyle brushes and all other Adobe brushes can be used in Procreate. Just drag and drop them in from Files to import them.

2020-11-05 05:20:43 +0000 UTCThis new process was awesome to see! I'm loving the manga style. About Wacom pressure sensitivity: See if your system has something called Wacom Tablet Properties. It should allow you to save different settings for different programs. Maybe Cintiqs are different, but I can do this with my Intuos Pro.
