Fatal Fury - WIP + Timelapse Video
Added 2020-11-12 06:01:41 +0000 UTCedit - if you're unfamiliar with the characters - These are characters from SNK's Fatal Fury(they're also in King of Fighters and some other titles) - they're Mai Shiranui, Terry Bogard and Andy Bogard. I was a big fan of all these characters having grown up playing the games as well as the Fatal Fury anime's being some of my first introductions to anime itself.

Hope you've been well! I wanted to try out a new approach developing off of the previous Chun-Li piece. The idea I had was to mix the color pencil style with a gouache paint look - I'm achieving this simply by using the Kyle T Webster brush "gouache a go go" - you can see the application of the brush on Mai's chest/arm/leg. I find that the texture of this brush blends nicely with the color pencil's texture - I'm able to maintain the same aesthetic but can also render larger areas without resorting to rendering tiny pencil lines.
The timelapse covers the first chunk of the piece up to me beginning to render Terry Bogard's face. I've since done a bit more recording on rendering Mai and will do subsequent recordings as I move along in the piece!

2020-11-12 09:57:11 +0000 UTCI grew up with Fatal Fury / Garou Densetsu. Terry was my first crush and the trio (Terry, Andy and Joe) are one of my fave teams in the original KOF series. I know a few who also watched the Fatal Fury animes (Masami Obari stylized), and they (imo) did a good job in them. You gave Mai some serious guns xD
