Ann - Persona 5 wip + Bloodborne thumbnail video w/commentary

Bloodborne thumbnail video -Watch it here!

Hey!

Hope you're all well! I just wanted to quickly share what I've been doing to continue to test my grayscale approach as I move a bit closer to doing a full basics walkthrough of this specific style. So far I really like the results, I think it's getting me the quickest finished look out of anything I've done thus far.

You can see from the wips above that I have my grayscale render of Ann from Persona 5, I take that, turn the layer to multiply and add my colors beneath that layer and simply finish painting overtop the whole thing to finish it. It's very simple, and thanks to the brushes, I find the texture comes across nicely.

Some of you mentioned not being able to find the brush I mentioned called plastic wrap - I think it's possible that I've gotten that brush from somewhere else other than Greg's download, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll double check one more time and if it's not a paid for brush, I'll upload it here directly for you.

The video I included is the process of my Bloodborne thumbnail, there's a slight technical issue toward the middle and my camera shits the bed. I've ordered a replacement adapter for the battery so hopefully it doesn't die during the Q&A!

Also, the final of this Persona 5 piece will include Makoto, maybe others, I'm not sure yet!

Thanks as always for your support!

Dave

If this helps I found plastic wrap in a Richard Wright brush set from one of his tutorials on artstation. i absolutely love that brush!

I could be mistaken, but I noticed some of your references are open in a web browser. I'm sure you know about it, but if not, check out PureRef. Great way to organize all your references on an infinite canvas. Amazing work as always, Dave!

Thank you! Yes, I plan on it!

Excellent work! Will you be returning to that Noriyoshi Ohrai inspired painting?

YoPotato

I'm definitely considering what scale I'd like to do, I generally end up adding a bunch of characters to my pieces like this

David Rapoza

This is so fantastic.

Any chance Joker and Akechi will also be in there?
