As someone that's quite literally a Dayseeker fan from the first minute, this might be an odd album to react to for the first time because it is intentionally slower. Origin, for example, is very heavy and a way more metalcore album. Then again, the band has been experimenting with different styles for each album, which also makes them very unique.

2023-03-02 00:14:25 +0000 UTCAfterglow is an absolute triumph of an album closer, it calls back loads of rhythmic and melodic motifs from the rest of the album that just give you the sense that Rory's just saying to Hazel lyrically and musically that no matter what happens or has happened, everything is worth it for them. It just puts everything into perspective.
