Managing Mom

Brooke Phillips was a star, a successful and well-known singer who'd built a fine career for herself over the last two decades. At 38, she wasn't the biggest star in the world, but she had amassed an impressive fan-following and fortune. Unfortunately, she'd also built a reputation for being difficult to work with. Her manager had just quit angrily after months of frustration right in the middle of her latest tour. Even though she had plenty of money to offer a replacement, her reputation as a diva had put off a lot of prospects, and she needed someone right away. So, she was forced to give her 22-year-old daughter Silver a chance. Silver had been wanting to take over the management of her career for months, but Brooke didn't think she was ready. Now, she had no choice but to hope Silver would rise to the challenge.

There were a few hiccups at the first few shows Silver worked, but she overcame them and seemed to learn from them. Then, she got Brooke booked on a couple of TV talk shows and secured a magazine interview for her. Brooke was starting to think she might have been wrong about her daughter. But her biggest challenge was yet to come. Brooke got sick while on break and was diagnosed with a severe kidney infection. The doctor gave her an antibiotic to clear it up, but she had to pee a lot. With a show coming up in a couple of days, they were hoping this would subside. But by the day of the show, the symptom had gotten better but not gone away. They began to explore options. Brooke wanted to cancel, but Silver reminded her that this was a big show with a lot riding on it. The promoters had put a lot of money into advertising it, and a lot of people were looking to make a significant amount of money off of it. After some debate, the decision was made to move forward with the concert but allow her backup band to play a short set halfway through to give Brooke a break so she could pee. But as showtime approached and Brooke couldn't even go an hour without having to pee, it was clear that wouldn't work either.

It was Silver's idea for Brooke to wear a diaper. It wasn't unheard of for performers to wear diapers onstage, but Brooke herself had never had to do it. She was embarrassed by the idea, but she couldn't think of another viable solution. Silver sent her assistant out for the package, so shortly before the concert was to start, Brooke used the bathroom one last time and taped an adult disposable diaper onto herself. "It's an overnight since you'll flood it if you have to use it," Silver explained. "If I have to," Brooke replied with an emphasis on "if," grateful that her outfit was loose-fitting enough to hide the extra bulk.

As she took the stage after her opening act, she put her problem in the back of her mind and focused on her performance, greeting her audience and launching into her first song. As she wrapped up the fourth one, she began to feel pressure in her abdomen as her bladder began to fill. Two songs later, it was full. As she finished the next one, she realized she couldn't hold it any longer and let go, flooding her diaper in front of a couple thousand people. The warm pee rushed into her crotch and quickly soaked into the padding, which expanded and grew heavier. Brooke brushed it off and started her next song, doing the math in her mind to determine how long she'd have to wait until her break. By the time it finally came around, she had to pee again. She rushed offstage to her dressing room, ripped the diaper off, and sat on the toilet just before her stream started. She sat there for a long time, trying to get as empty as possible. She inspected her pants and didn't see any signs of leakage, so that at least was a relief to her. Finally, she taped on a fresh diaper and pulled her pants up to go back out. She had to wet again about forty-five minutes in and kept singing without missing a beat. Her bladder was full again by the time she reached the end of the show, but the audience demanded an encore. She did one more song, wetting a second time as she reached the bridge and really putting her diaper to the test. Back in her dressing room after the show, she was amazed to see that it had contained everything.

She was about to strip off and take a shower when she remembered the long ride from the venue to the hotel as the car fought traffic. It could be quite a while before she could get to another bathroom. So, she simply changed into another diaper and walked to the car. It was a smart move because she flooded her padding just as the car pulled into the hotel parking lot. Tired and wet, Brooke stepped into her room, tossed her clothes carelessly onto the floor, used the toilet, and took a long, hot shower to wash off the sweat and the pee. By the time she got out, she had to pee again, so she sat on the toilet and relieved herself. As she sat there, she thought about the repeated interruptions to her sleep to use the bathroom during the last few nights and realized it had been a while since she'd had a good night's sleep. Silver was staying in another bedroom in the suite, but she wasn't there at the time. Brooke called her cell and said, "Do you think you could get some more of those diapers? I've been getting up to piss a lot lately, and if I wore a diaper, I could probably get more sleep." "Sure, Mom. I'll have another package brought up," Silver said.

That night, like the one before it, Brooke woke up with an urgent need to pee. Remembering what she was wearing, she relaxed with some effort and let go in her diaper, feeling the warm liquid soak into the padding. She then rolled over and went back to sleep. A couple hours later, she repeated the performance and only got up to change, going immediately back to sleep. She woke up once more to pee but didn't have to change again that night. When she woke up the next morning, she saw no need to rush to the bathroom to relieve herself since she was already wearing a wet diaper, so she used it again. Since they'd done their job well, she decided she'd just keep sleeping in the diapers until she got over the kidney infection.

She made the same decision about her concerts, of course. By the time of her next concert, Silver had gotten her some more absorbent diapers over the Internet. They were a little thicker than the other ones, so her wardrobe had to be altered to cover the bulk, but at least she felt confident she wouldn't leak. As before, she wore them all the way back to the hotel and slept in them that night. By her third show in diapers, she had gotten used to using them. But she was interrupted by the lighting director that night as she made for the dressing room on her break. He wanted to talk about the problem that had delayed the start of the show. He had no idea about her recent pee problem, and she was too embarrassed to tell him that she needed to go change her soggy diaper. By the time she finally got away from him, she was short on time and had wet a third time. She walked into her dressing room to change and found Silver there waiting for her. "Where have you been?! You're about to be late," Silver said. "I know, but I couldn't get away from Brian. I just need to change before I go back out there." Silver shook her head and replied, "You'll never make it in time. Here, lie on the carpet, and I'll do it for you. It'll go faster that way." Brooke started to object, but Silver cut her off, "Come on, come on, we don't have time to argue!" So, Brooke laid blushing on the floor and let her daughter change her soggy diaper. She did an extra-long encore that night, so she was extra-wet when she finally left the stage. She changed herself and went back to the hotel, where she showered and diapered herself again for bed.

She was still peeing a lot and frequently running to the bathroom, but she'd gotten used to using diapers, so Silver suggested, "Why don't you just wear the diapers all the time until you get rid of the infection? You'll get more rest that way." Brooke agreed and took to wearing a diaper at all times. She also started a series of promotional appearances Silver had booked for her. At one talk show, she needed a change just before she was to be called out, so Silver had to do it for her. A couple days later, Brooke returned to the hotel exhausted from a full day of interviews and appearances. She plopped down on her bed as soon as she got into her room and felt too tired to move. Silver noticed and asked, "Are you wet, Mom? Want me to change you?" Brooke nodded sleepily, so Silver pulled her pants down and changed her into a dry diaper before putting her to bed. In the morning, she woke up wet again with no memory of wetting, so she knew she'd had an accident, and she assumed it was because of the kidney infection. "Thank God for this diaper," she thought as she looked at how wet it was.

As usual, Brooke wet a couple of times during her concert that night and went to her dressing room during her break to change. When she got there, she found Silver tapping away on her phone. She looked up when Brooke walked in and said, "Oh, is it break already? Okay, come on, let's get you changed." Brooke looked confused. "There's no rush. I can do it myself tonight," she replied. "The audiences have been getting bored with the band during intermission, Mom. They're here to see you, not them. So, lie down and let me change you so you can get right back out there." Reluctantly, Brooke laid down and let her daughter put her into a dry diaper. After that, the intermission was shortened to only several minutes, during which Silver would change her mom's diaper for her.

Her kidney infection seemed to stretch on and on, and the doctor told her it was because she wasn't getting enough rest, constantly on the move, sometimes day and night. She kept having to pee frequently, so she kept wearing diapers. One morning, she woke up to find Silver changing her. "What are you doing?" Brooke asked. "I just thought I'd check on you, and you were soaked, so I decided to change you." Silver insisted on changing her again before the show that night and yet again afterwards. At first, Brooke was put off by the idea of her daughter changing her diapers, but she was now getting used to the convenience. She didn't have to run to the bathroom to relieve herself, and now she didn't even have to change herself afterwards. They rode back to the hotel together, and Brooke showered and diapered herself before bed. The next morning, she woke up wet as usual, found Silver, and asked her, "Will you change my diaper?" Silver dutifully obliged her. For the rest of the day, Brooke let her daughter handle her changes while she laid back and relaxed.

At her next concert, Brooke was on stage when she felt pressure in her gut. She ran for the toilet as soon as the show was over, but just as she got to her dressing room, her sphincter gave out. She stopped and stood in front of her daughter, filling her diaper, who knew exactly what was happening. When Brooke was done, Silver got out a tub of baby wipes, some powder, and a fresh diaper. She laid her mom down, cleaned her up, and put a fresh diaper on her. The experience hadn't been as bad as Brooke had thought it would be, so the next day found her pooping her diaper again, this time on purpose. Silver didn't say much when she discovered what her mom had done. She took it in stride.

Realizing that it was much easier to just go in her diaper and have Silver clean her up, Brooke did so again the next day and then again. That night, Silver told her she had a surprise for her and produced a pink diaper covered with babyish graphics. "Since you want to act like a baby, I guess you'll want to dress like one too. Now, lay down and let Mommy change you, sweetie." Brooke did as she was told. Their relationship was never the same after that. Silver took over as the mom and treated her like a baby, caring for her and calling all the shots. She set a bedtime for Brooke when she wasn't performing and put her to bed at night. After about a week of this, the kidney infection finally cleared up, but there was no going back. Brooke had discovered she liked being a baby, and Silver clearly liked being the mom, so she continued to wet and mess her diapers whenever she felt the need to do so, and her daughter continued to take care of her. Isn't that what good managers do?
