The Priorities of Cinderella - https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/cinder-091
I've undoubtedly made recent mention of priorities in one of these announcements, but I cannot recall what it was. Therefore, I am not repeating myself. This is how personal reality works.
"You're allowing for the possibility that this is some other fairy godmother?"
"I have insufficient data to speak with complete certainty!"
"I'm not sure why, but I find that oddly endearing..."
An easy trap to fall into while writing is to focus on what is important to the author rather than what is important to the characters. In my case, I spent a great deal of time focusing on Cinderella-Tedd's reaction to Elliot being the prince, and the mention of her godmother in a specific "oh no, I've been found out" sort of way.
Though those things are certainly on Cinderella's mind, and are indeed important to the plot, neither is Cinderella's highest priority. Her godmother's wellbeing takes precedence over all in this moment.
Which, fortunately for me, works better for this story...
