Cinderella - 93 - HD

The prince goes meep meep - https://www.egscomics.com/egsnp/cinder-093

That's a roadrunner reference! Everyone knows the roadrunner, right? Runs fast, bit of a stinker, probably not worth the effort to catch?

Commentary

I say things such as "please" and "thank you", and I feel right doing so. This includes when I'm a customer in a store. Even if it's someone's job to help me out, it feels right to show courtesy and appreciation.

Frankly, I do appreciate it. Again, job or not pay, paid for or not, they're helping me out in some way. It feels right.

I'm not sure how appropriate that would be for someone in Prince Elliot's position. I still believe in the showing of courtesy and appreciation, but I wonder how real that potential confusion in the last panel could be over something as simple as adding "please" to what's really an order.

I'm boldly assuming "thank you" would remain fine, except it's occurred to me that saying "thank you" when the person you're thanking had to do the thing you're thanking them for could be poorly received. Granted, if they're happy with their position, that might not be an issue. On the OTHER hand...

It's probably for the best I'm not anyone's boss.

Audrey Hepburn plays a princess in Roman Holiday. Saying "thank you" and "no, thank you" turns out to be a big part of the job of being a princess.

David Karr

It would violate royal etiquette to ask "please" but would violate Elliott's character not to, even if he is a Prince 😂 The Thank You, on the other hand... I dunno. Outside of absolute monarch Louis XIV levels of royals maybe, showing appreciation fits right in. Probably worded differently though.
