Definitely Never Been Here Before
Added 2024-11-11 04:00:04 +0000 UTCCaught off-guard by the invitation to the magic tea shop, Ashley shook her head, and claimed she'd never been there before. She soon regretted this lie, for Grace and Sarah immediately insisted on introducing her to it.
Once there, Ashley did everything in her power to distract Grace and Sarah from seeing the plaque celebrating her as a regular, and exceptionally enthusiastic, customer.
As tends to happen with sitcom-style hijinks, these attempts at distraction escalated, inevitably resulting in Ashley drinking far more tea than even she regularly would, and with all sorts of varied side effects.
Ashley wound up admitting to it in the end anyway, as there's only so long Ashley of all people could keep lying without something greater being at stake than her embarrassment.
Miraculously, this confession was the only reason Grace and Sarah learned the truth. At no point had they ever noticed the plaque.

Sarah and Grace having of course also visited The Tea Shop regularly had never run into Ashley there, and had had MONTHS to notice the plaque, but that's just how they are.

None of the women shown here normally have those figures, or hair that long. Their outfits are also affected. The one attempting to hide being a frequent customer is a transformation enthusiast. I say non-canon because my comic does have an ongoing story, and the magic tea is not part of that story. It has come up a few times outside of that story, however.

I've always maintained that "what if a wizard was making money using real but harmless magic" would be an interesting ethnical quandary for Tedd and the team to deal with in the main comic. Do you tell someone they aren't allowed to use their innate talent and learned skills, just because? Do you turn them over to Arthur and his team, who will disappear her for it? ...With magic expanding, the magic tea could actually become more powerful, too -- whereas before it might have been subtle, now it's outright transformation potion tier magic if Tea wants her creations to do that. That complicates matters too...
