Cinderella - 28 - HD

But what I CAN do is...

"Seriously, kid, I know you think you want to manipulate the memories of the entire world, but that's a terrible idea that causes all sorts of weird multiverse nonsense."

Commentary

I don't know if anyone reading this is unfamiliar with Cinderella. The thought is unthinkable to me, but people all around the world read this, and who knows what children's stories kids are reading these days? They're not necessarily sticking with stories first written in 1697, and...

Oh ye gods what if people are still watching The Simpsons in 2353.

ANYWAY! My point is, and I suppose spoiler warning for anyone unfamiliar with Cinderella, but there needs to be a reason why Cinderella is difficult to identify after the ball, and it wouldn't be this comic if a basic feminine transformation was enough to disguise Tedd.

@Shive please watch this documentary video on the Simpsons by Jacob Geller, focusing on a collaboration with Don Hertzfeldt. "The Best Simpsons Intro Is About Losing Everything You Love" - I have recommended this to several content creators and they tend to appreciate it ;)

Please keep in mind that Perreault's version is public domain so people can read it for free from archives and create their own inspired works. Therefore, The Simpsons original may be competing for people's attention against hundreds of years of derivate works :D

In whatever year Futurama is set The Simpsons is on their eleventivity billionth original episode.

Opus the Poet

One sci-fi story I've read was set in the late 2300s and included a brief mention of a character not wanting to miss the latest episode of "Coronation Street"

Well, that's one of those technically correct things. It's true they stopped making The Simpsons in 2105. But the thing is, it's because they start making Da Simps in 2105. The differences between the two shows are entirely summed up by Da Simps is not archaic. It's functionally a continuation of the same show. And in fact, internally, it's just a rebranding.

Some Ed

She'd have to do SOMETHING to disguise him. Cuz we all know that Tedd is just that girly πŸ˜‰

AstroChaos

They stopped producing The Simpsons in 2105*, so, yes, I expect they are still watching them in reruns in 2353. *Or so the Teatime Anarchist assured me. And he never fibbed...^_^

Foradain

I have a theory that Charles Perreault was face-blind, but other people have said it's more likely a commentary on people not recognizing the servant class out of context.

Warren (Stephen) Rose

And there was much rejoicing (yay!)

Foradain

So long as you recognize the necessity 😜

Taigan

It won't be the next one, but I knew as soon as I mentioned color, there'd have to be a sketchbook with reddish-purple hair Cinderella Tedd.

Dan Shive

I hope Cindertedd’s final look is colorized in the next sketchbook posting! 🀞
