Here's a look at how The Apex was put together! This video is a little live-action light but I think it's still an interesting look behind the scenes!
I initially had very different plans for the video. Not wanting to feel like I was just doing 'The Second again', I had planned to build a set and do a more complex video. But other projects came up (that I can hopefully share with you soon!) and the video had to be simplified to a more traditional green screen shoot. At which point I decided to embrace it and relished the chance to make another Hitman video utilising the same concept as the previous one (ominous Stupes is flanked by lens flares and occasionally kills himself) as an opportunity to challenge myself and show how I've improved as a video producer. So whilst The Apex mirrors The Second in a lot of ways, it does so with several hundred percent greater production quality!
Note the fancy slide-y camera moves whilst I'm in the chair! That's the new motion control camera setup at work. I first used it in the video for Vending Machine of Love but I think this video shows off what it can do a little better without the more frantic editing in VMoL.
You'll be seeing a lot more use of it in future videos!
