Abandoned Palaces, Modern Day Prince's, & 1000-Year-Old Secrets in the Abyss

Hello again, lovely!

You might be wondering... "Harry, where the fuck are the videos?!". Let me explain.

I've just had to drive about 1500km over 3 days to a place where I'm doing some super top secret stuff that I'll tell you about in this post.

Over the last few weeks, I have been on some serious adventure, the type where you have no connection or electricity, into mountains so high you might be a little bit closer to Jesus himself.

(on a weird sidenote, there is actually a tomb to Jesus nearby, up in Srinagar)

But we're not talking about Jesus or Srinagar. I just spent some adrenaline-fuelled days in Ladakh. The most insane, beautiful, and if not, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE I'VE BEEN.

As I made my way through Ladakh, I made some friends and we went on a big tour together into the mountains, to Uming La, and some off-roading routes that most people never go down.

Would highly recommend this route. It was given to me by a friend (advbing).

It's nothing but pure desert for about 30-50 km; sand dunes; no one in sight; multiple tracks you can choose which to take; and big hills you can take the long route all around, or choose to drive straight up and over.

I was very proud of these lads. They'd only just learned to ride 3 days ago and were managing some pretty intense stuff.

When all was said and done, it was time to say my sad goodbyes and head off on my own to what I'd heard was an abandoned palace, where a Hungarian adventurer who had run out of money got commissioned by a British officer to translate the Tibetan language into English and continue his journey.

(later I would find that I would be much like that Hungarian traveller, but I suppose a slightly more vain version)

Well...

Just as luck would have it, when I arrived, I would bump into a Hungarian girl who had located the King's son.

He would open up the old Palace and give us a tour with the help of his wife, who mentioned some things that made me exceptionally curious.

A 1000-year-old fort and Stupa in the middle of nowhere, that would require my first ever hike (by foot) to get to!

And it just so turns out it was her favourite hike to do, so she jumped at the opportunity to take me.

Hiking was interesting. It wasn't as cool as biking, but it allows you to get to way deeper, to more interesting places, and this place had old, 1000 year old, preserved paintings, and the views from the top were phenomenal.

We did a little bit of rock climbing, some steep climbs, river crossings and made food in the abyss together, until heading back to the village, where, just like that adventurer all those years ago, I was invited to stay in the prince's home for the night.

But unlike that great adventurer, I would not be commissioned to do work.

HOWEVER

There was some work coming for me in the next few days...

For this I would have to travel over 1500km in 3 days to get to a place called Rajkot.

Here a beautiful family have taken me in for a few days, invited me to come and see a party and I feel at home.

And somehow... not really sure how, but their daughter has organised some modelling photoshoots for the next few days where I will be paid for my time.

It's not bad money either tbh...

So, I guess, much like the great Hungarian adventurer of those days before me, I have been commissioned to do far less interesting and important work to continue with my easy challenge comparatively.

Whatever will happen next?

I don't know... but I do know for sure there won't be a plaque of my name ever printed in that king's room for future folk like me to come and visit.
