[A look at] Blaaaaank smiiiiiles

Those smiles might be blank, but they’re not empty at all!

It is not hard to see what inspired these work in progress sketches, granted that you know the reference, but I wanted to talk about something a little deeper.

My story is probably the same, or similar, to many in my audience. We felt funny when we watched a silly snake with silly eyes in a silly cartoon.

For many of you, on your end of this publication, you’re hopefully in eager awaiting of some new artwork from me depicting just that, though with some tastes acquired along the way.

But on my end, I’m granted a moment of reflexion. I’m here because of the support of many people, and because I made a decision many years ago.

Back then, I didn’t have the skills or knowledge that would let me perceive an income by drawing on a piece of paper, nor did I have the money to pay anyone to draw any of the very niche things that I liked, especially being from a third-world country. So I took it upon myself to practice, study, and practice again, even giving away my work for free.

After a few years, I stopped working for free and started working for peanuts, and many years after that, I started a Patreon page, which I see as the logical next step as an artist, at least within my field.

So, yeah, many things had to happen just the right way for me to be here, offering you some insight and a WIP sketch. Maybe your story is similar to mine, or you know somebody who might be on the fence about starting a career in furry art.

I’m by no means a professional, nor an example to follow, but it just goes to show that you never know where you might end up by doing the things you learned, over 10 years later.

If we take [A look at] something else, I’ll let you know.
