The Trash Barons of Compaxia bought scores of young Buvari as scavengers. They were well suited for the hazardous conditions of the junk planet due to their size, flexible skeletons, and immunity to most known toxins. Paz'tyshi was among them, and while there, grew interested in the inner workings of the alien starships she dug through. Stashing low-value parts, building trinkets, restoring small devices. Dreaming that, one day, she'd have the tools to make one of these hollow motionless superlight cores spin to life, and fly one of these dead ships to freedom.
Her ambitions of becoming a freelance mechanic, however, would not materialize. In her adulthood--now too big to crawl around in derelict ships, she was sold to Xoath Bal--a Daimyar Pirate Lord, for a far crueler purpose.
With luck, her passion for engineering, and the help of an infatuated Human, she would earn her life and freedom.
Rumors circulated among various crews on freelance ships. Whispers about their looker of an engineer, that she used to belong to the Dread Pirate Xoath for years before she got her maintenance certifications.
