Same thing can be done with reflective and fluorescent paints.

I've tested Lucas, STP, and Slick 50 in the past but not Prolube or Tribotex. Thank you for the suggestion. Best regards, Todd

Hello, Have you done a test of oil additives such as Lucas, Prolube, STP, Slick50, and TribiTEX

Hi Paul, I'm confident that there is indeed a difference. Thank you for the topic suggestion. Best regards, Todd

Is there any difference in caulk brands? Some seem to shrink less and stick better than others but I may be wrong about that. Any way, food for thought.

Surprised to see (unless I just didn't find it) that you have yet to review emergency radios! Namely, the hand-crankable, solar powered weather radios that everyone should have - but with 1000 chinese options on Amazon each claiming to be the best, what to choose!?

I like to see testing of 12V 7AH sealed lead acid batteries. I stall them in security alarm systems and fire alarm systems. They are also used in Uninterruptible Power Supplies(UPS). If possible, I would like the following brands included: Duracell, Powersonic, UltraTech, Elk and Yuasa. Those are the brands available from my suppliers.

I'd love to see a comparison of compact routers (1.25HP ish) both corded and cordless. Amazon has a seemingly unending number of these and it would be great to have some way to narrow it down to the better options.

Thread chaser kits. Not dies and taps but chasers. Those things which are designed to reform/repair existing threads but not cut new ones. Most auto parts stores have loaners of them available but there are also a variety of kits from various Chinese sources (including some name brands).

With summer just about here, I’d like to see a review on tent stakes. Which hold the best in multiple soils, which pound into the ground easiest, which is most durable, lightest, cheapest, etc. Specific models include the MSR Groundhog, the MSR Mini Groundhog, many of the MSR knockoffs, the Coghlan plastic, the Eurmax galvanized, the Coleman 10 inch stakes, and the extra expensive Snowpeak solid stake 30. I’ve bought many of the MSR groundhog and its knockoffs (oftentimes they just come with whatever tent/tarp) and really feel like the knockoffs bend and break significantly easier than the MSR. I’d love to know if my anecdotal experience has any basis or if it’s in my head. I’d also like to know if there’s something significantly better out there I should switch to.

Hi Mike, I have not yet reviewed brake fluids. Thank you for the suggestion. Best regards, Todd

Project Farm LLC

Have you done a brake fluid test? How long it takes to absorb water from atmosphere. Actual boiling point. Corrosion. Etc

I don't know if you had the suggestion, but it'd be interesting to see a review of dish soaps. Is Dawn really the best of is store brand good enough? Is Dawn Powerwash a powerful enough cleaner to justify the cost? Perhaps you could also add in other cleaners like barkeeper's friend or one of the scrub daddy solutions to see how they all tackle dirty stainless steel pans or ovens.

Just saw this last week, thanks for the tip! I love that channel - had just missed that video

The person who was managing everything started a family and no longer had the time to help. I don't recall the name of the supplier. Best regards, Todd

Random question, but whatever happened to Ozzie's Coffee? I placed a few orders last year and now I see the domain is owned by domain squatters. If you shut it down, can you let me know which coffee roaster it was coming from? My wife loved your beans!

Mason, check out Technology Connections video's on this. He's super thorough and covers everything you need to know about getting the most out of your dishwasher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHP942Livy0

Hi Project Farm, iv'e been stuck on which 1/4 hex shank drill bits to get for impacts because they tend to break easily and i'm wondering if I should bother with them at all. Hoping this gives you a cool video idea and that its worth checking out one day!

I've got a new suggestion. Permanent markers. Which ones last longest with the cap off, which ones write in water or oil, which ones last the longest, which ones smell like banana laffy taffy (It's the Sharpie Pros).

Kyle Jackson

Thanks for the suggestion! Best regards, Todd

Howdy! I've got a good one for you that I have not seen quantifiable data on. I would love to see data on brakes and rotors. Cheap vs premium, drilled and slotted vs slotted vs blanks. Use a single brand of brake pads for the control. I'd love to see how fast they heat up and cool down, difference in material wear, failure points. The big thing is I see a lot of slotted and drilled rotors out there but no one seems to have done a really good apples to apples test to see if slotted is better, then where and what is the cost? Thank you for all the work! Your content and dedication is amazing

I was wondering if you could help debunk a common debate. In the cast iron community people claim antique and vintage American cast iron is better than modern expensive USA made cast iron. They’ve referred to issues newer cast iron has had with the seasoning sticking. Companies have adjusted their finish on the cast iron to better except seasoning. Personally I think the older cast iron is more porous than the newer castings and this is why if newer cast iron is finished too smooth it can have issues where as the older cast iron is more porous so it is less finicky about how smooth it is finished.

Does it matter what brand of metal file you use? and for smaller parts, needle files? I've seen some that my parents have had since I was a child that still hold up, and I've seen some that wear out after a few months to a year of use. My personal use case is small model kits where I need to remove the flashing along the seems where 2 sides of the mold meet. Occasionally I've used them for other things, such as to file down sharp corners on a metal part, or to roughen a surface I'm going to glue/epoxy because I've heard that helps it bind to the metal better. Hopefully you'll find this to be worth testing at some point.

Ok, I know motor oil reviews have been done to death. But...I've used Mobil 1 exclusively on my vehicles for over 15 years. Now, they have so many different "flavors", so to speak. And I've always wondered, is there REALLY a big difference? Like, what is the real performance difference between standard Mobil 1 vs High Mileage vs Extended Performance vs Extended Performance High Mileage vs European Cars vs Truck & SUV vs Advanced Fuel Economy, etc. etc. etc. Is there really a benefit to buying one of these varieties over the other, or is it all just marketing?

Erik Salas

Thank you for the positive feedback on the oil review and for the video idea! Ultra Platinum is a fantastic oil, and I use it in my wife's newer vehicle.

Project Farm LLC

Love the oil reviews, interested in Mobil 1 supercar 0w40 info if you have any. I'm a pensoil Ultra Platinum guy based largely on you reviews and availability but my C8 calls for the M1 SC.

A Guzzardo
