“So why the job swap Wendy? What were you doing before this?” Mitch struck up a conversation.
“I tried secretarial work… but it didn’t suit me too well. Then I failed my probation for the police force…” Wendy said, absent mindedly fiddling with her lunchbox.
“What did you fail on?” Mitch asked.
“Stepped on a bunch of people.” Wendy replied.
Mitch immediately regretted asking, but he was so used to talking to Cici. Wendy just couldn’t have been more different.
Mitch endeavoured to change the subject, racking his brain for anything useful he could say to her. In the end, she broke the nervous silence.
“What do you have for lunch, Mitch?” She asked.
“Pastrami on rye. You?” Mitch asked before he remember what giant women ate.
