Bonus Panels 102-107

Another batch of bonus panels again! I'm really digging this new format I got goin for them! As usual, I'll include a little bit of insight on the BTS of each of the comic below!

102 - Critic
Fun fact, this isn't actually the 102nd comic, but it's the 102nd comic posted on Webtoons, so I just use that system! As I mentioned before, I wanted to do a series of comics about Duncan and Kip becoming friends before going into the series with Kip and Mason, just to round out their characters a bit more (and because everyone in the comic sort of revolves around Eddie). I really like this one, cause it really is the epitome of their entire dynamic of Kip and Duncan being pretty similar, but Kip is generally a lot more nervous and anxious. Also Kip's legs are drawn too long.

103 - Roommates
This was a pretty quick comic, it was a lot of reusing colors and stuff. I think Kip is overalls is absurdly cute, I am 100% putting them in overalls more often. I also wanted to show a little bit of Kip's mindset with asking Mason out. I wanted to hint at the mindset of like "I can't ask them out because I'd be the problem" and leave that door open to explore in future stuff. Mainly though, I just think this comic is kinda cute and fun DKSLFJSD

104 - Appreciation
Originally, this comic was going to have Kip at the end be like "BUT NOT IN LIKE A FLIRTY WAY LIKE I LIKE YOU BUT NOT IN LIKE THAT WAY BUT NOT BECAUSE-" and just kind of blabber on, while Duncan would think to himself, "Oh, they're just like this with everyone." I think it's funnier than what the comic ended up being, but it was too similar to another comic, so I went with the current version. Also, I really wanted to push the color and design WAY out of my comfort zone (even though a lot of it gets blocked anyways) and I'm super happy with how it came out! I think this was also the first time I had a character overlap a speech bubble!

105 - Mouthful
This was another Kip lore drop disguised as a regular comic. Because most of Kip's comics are just them freaking out over Mason, I had to really squeeze in a few more comics of them being an anxious little bean before the new comic arc starts! I fiddled with this palette for so long, there's like 6 different versions or something. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, though! I also used a funky little pattern for the impact bg in panel 2 I'm really happy with!

106 - Reflect
I have to keep coming up with more abstract names for comics so that I don't accidentally reuse a name. Both "pride" and "binder" were already taken, so "reflect" it is! Let's just hope I don't make a comic about mirrors down the line. This was another comic I sort of struggled with the palette. I'm really uncomfortable working with magenta and purple, so working in Eddie's VIBRANT bisexual shirt was a bit of a journey for me. There's some really cute drawings in here, I think this is around when I really started trying to solidify their body types a little bit more, so Eddie really looks like a twink. Also, his hand overlaps the speech bubble in panel 2 and I think that's really cute.

107 - Misuse
I love this palette I did. I've been trying to force myself to use very saturated colors, but I wanted to fall back to my roots and do something a bit more muted, but still colorful. I think it also reflects the comic a bit too, since previous pride comics have been really bright and vibrant, but I think as the comic has aged and matured a little bit, the softer palette is a nice reflection of that. I very nearly scrapped this comic many times, since the dialogue is a little sarcastic and I really did not feel like having a bunch of people on the internet come after me (they did), but I thought it was really funny so I made it anyways. I think it came out really pretty and really nice, so I'm really happy with it! (Also, the flowers on the arch behind them are rainbow!)
