Hardware Parts List - Compliant Designs
Added 2023-11-10 22:42:17 +0000 UTCThe Blender files have the components and ya can measure in Blender to get the dimensions, but this post is to help simplify which hardware sizes as you prototype!
Blade & Lock Magnets
- 3mm diameter x 4mm long neodymium
Elastic Bands
- Any thin bands that are just barely taught at 40mm
Bearings
- ID 3mm x OD 7mm x H 3mm ball bearings
(U shaped bearings might be better for thinner ring-cables)
Screws
- Screws are M3 alloy screws. M2's are only used in the Episode 5 compliant design to hold the front down (these are the sideways screws in front & back)
Comments
Yep, these would work for the magnets / bolts / bands for the V4 as well

2024-10-05 22:09:33 +0000 UTCYep not a problem! I want to share ideas and encourage makers. Just as long as people aren’t turning around and selling them. Credit for for the TikTok post is good with me

2023-12-27 16:41:04 +0000 UTCIf you look at the bottom of the Blade & the bottom of the locks, you'll see where the magnets go! I just now realized that I never showed the bottom of the blade / locks in my videos! Could be a good topic to make an adhoc overview YouTube video for that

2023-12-27 16:39:19 +0000 UTCOk thnx also going through the blend file as well as the stl for type 5 I don't see the mechanism that uses the magnets I rewatched your vids but I don't see the part that uses it would it be under a different version?

Then the standard 3x7x3 bearings (plain or U) would be used on the 3mm spokes that are on the Unibody Cover

2023-12-27 16:24:14 +0000 UTCHey I've been searching everywhere can not find those bearings in the specs you gave anywhere the best I could find were fir a pair on amazon for $35

2023-12-24 19:54:52 +0000 UTChttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phMVd_rX0to&t=7s < The beginning of my YouTube analysis shows the same U bearings there! And the neodymium magnets are shown in my videos as well; I believe episode 2. And yes, they are small round neodymium magnets at the dimensions specified.

2023-12-24 19:53:59 +0000 UTCOk could you post a pick of the items like the "u shape" barings as well as the magnets I'm assuming they are round based on the Dia given but I can't find u shaped or magnets In the size you listed so I want to make sure I'm looking for the right things thanks

2023-12-24 19:20:41 +0000 UTCCorrect, this is the Prototype 5 Parts! I don't have a list of Links since many of my parts are from lying around or variety hardware kits! I'm sure most of these parts are on Amazon if you search for them; you may just need to buy them in packs of 10 or similar.
Crash Makerspace
2023-12-24 19:18:30 +0000 UTCthis list applies to the prototype 5? having a issue finding the materials anyway you can link where to buy them (amazon if possible)

2023-12-24 16:11:51 +0000 UTCHey C! The Compliant Mark 5 files are up! They been up for a bit; just needed to make a YouTube vid and such describing it. "Hidden Blade Compliant Prototype 5" Post has em in attached!

2023-11-19 19:06:47 +0000 UTCCan't wait to see the mark 5 files go live
C
2023-11-19 19:00:41 +0000 UTCIt should be under the Hardware collection group! The screws also aren't in the blender file since the holes in the model are where those go.

2023-11-11 16:09:36 +0000 UTCIs this for the mark 5? I'm not seeing these in the blender file. @crashmarkerspace
