Slow and steady progress! I was laid out for like three weeks but I've been finding myself being able to do progressively more and more since the 9th, from 2 hours max, laying down, to over 4 a day sitting at my desk. I have to be careful. There were several points since October where I rushed and overdid it to the point where I'd need to take days or weeks off again. It's frustrating!! I want to draw. And I want to say I'm sick of breaking promises but the truth is that I should have considered that before adding more and more to my plate. But I expect to at least finish my patreon commitments this month.

February was mixed. I was confident that my injury was largely finished bothering me after I completed page 2 of Husband Taking. So I made a last minute decision to do the valentines thing. I wanted something lesser in scope than a fully rendered comic to get more experience doing patreon content. I'd done a relatively fast illustration to test, the proof of concept I posted earlier. But I ended up working well past my limits on the 13th to get all of it done on time and looking the way I wanted. I get stubborn. But it could have another day to finish the last image and salvaged much more of the month. I can at least take solace that I was somehow more productive than last February.

So if January was about getting started, then February was expanding things, and these next couple months are going to have to be about making things more streamlined and doable in the long run. I still have to make time for commissions with unpredictable output!

This Month, that meant finding a font that I liked instead of hand-writing everything. But I'm discovering that even though I have less overall to figure out, new challenges have cropped up in page 3. I The number of panels and characters within panels can be managed with a little more discernment. When I was thumbnailing these, my foremost concerns were that I get a plotline, characters, and their relationships to a point where they could reasonably inform a vote on what to happen next in as little pages as possible. But each page can be centered around one or two major things with some supporting context while still being impactful. Hell, maybe less is more. And lastly, I'm trying to mask everything out this time but it may just end up being busywork. I'll have to see!

As for the monthly illustrations, limiting myself to POV compositions has made for some pretty difficult perspective problems to solve. I'll avoid monthly themes for now to stick with what I know I can do. Depending on how quickly this month's illustration gets done, I could limit it from 2, to 1 in April onward until I speed up on them. I had some thoughts on polls, themselves. But I might save those until I've ran a couple more. If you've read to this point, thanks! I hope there was something interesting or enlightening here.
