I just had a thought about Superman, only partially related. Since the baddies in the current Superman film intend to commit genocide to steal a country and for other nefarious reasons, with the help of evil billionaire, Lex Luther and some powerful PR in the mainstream media, the Israeli lobby has complained that the film is antisemitic. This is not a new idea, as there is a news clip circulating from 1924 about objections to the stories in Superman comics then. But perhaps it works on two levels. What if we instead imagine Superman as a Jewish Israeli along with his biological parents. Who are the Palestinians then? Excellent film, btw, and he has the pants. I’m agreeing with everyone else that we’re here to support your work and that also means we wouldn’t want to limit its impact by delaying time-sensitive parts of it If you still worry about us Patreons after reading this in 200 comments, and want to do something to balance the missing early video, you could always do some small behind the scenes or blooper reel. Or an extended version with parts that you decided to cut. Or a commentary on the decisions you made while editing. There’s many other bonus content options :)

I generally don't care about early access in general (esp. considering it usually doesn't mean getting access early, but just intentionally delaying for everyone else), so of course am fine also in this particular case. But, even if it did matter, your videos are generally not particularly time sensitive, and this one is sort of very different on that account. So I think I'd be perfectly fine on this even if I did care in general. One potential downside to consider, while I suppose the overwhelmingly majority of people will be fine, it's probably more likely that people who will comment here will be those who are fine with it, and not ones who really aren't (more so if anyone looks at the existing comments and will see how contrary they'll appear and expect to be harshly judged for asking for stuff they're technically deserving to receive). So the votes/comments will be skewed over the (I again assume very few) people who may object... That said, well, since I do believe anyone who will object is wrong and a bit of a dick, personally I'm not that opposed to slightly stiffing them, you know? But YMMV.

I support Patreons because I want the creators to be able to create the content I like while surviving under capitalism. The perks are generally pretty irrelevant to me. I think releasing a time-sensitive video to everyone at the same time makes sense!

This one in particular, I’m perfectly happy sharing early access rights with everyone else. It feels like the right thing to do. Though a good way to have it both ways would be to have a “thank you to my patrons on Patreon for agreeing this should go out early to everyone. If you want early access to all my not-critically-urgent-and-super-time-sensitive videos, come on over to Patreon dot com! We have slimes! We have thoughts! We have rewards! We have keeping my lights on! It’s a good time and you should join us!” Or something along those lines.
