Added 2024-05-21 17:34:46 +0000 UTCA vocal minority of my viewers have taken issue with the more recent tone I have taken in some videos. They feel that I am no longer speaking about important or serious topics, being too frivolous and not using my platform responsibly.
I struggled with this video. I struggled on what tone to strike. This is a deeply personal issue for me, but at this point I would think it has become a deeply personal issue for just about everyone. There are several abortive first drafts littered across my google docs folder.
A part of me resents talking about it at all. A part of resents the idea that I, or anyone (and especially Gazans) are expected to rebut the constant torrent of genocide apologia from comfortable middle-class dweebs. What is there to say? What could I possibly add? The only appropriate response is "Fuck you."
So instead of appealing to the better angels of their nature, I decided to gaze into the pure cosmic absurdity at the heart of Zionist self-victimhood. I decided to use the only weapon I am capable of using, and to point at them and say "Look at these fucking losers."
Hopefully it makes you laugh (at them).
Failing that, I hope it makes you breath a sigh of relief.

I know you tend to downplay how useful your approach can be for a lot of reasons, but while feeling like I've just been screaming inside my own skull for months now I really appreciated someone sniping at the worst loudmouths with such moral clarity and straightforwardness. I'm old enough to not really need motivation or objectives when it comes to Israeli apartheid but it is nonetheless rejuvenating to hear someone put voice to these feelings in a compelling way.
