Avowed - Shroom For Improvement (Review)

I don't think we can realistically say that Josh Sawyer "wrote" Deadfire along with Carrie Patel. When I look at his entry on wikipedia it says "Narrative Designer". I'm not too familiar with that term in the industry but some quick googling shows that it's someone who works with the story team and the systems team to figure out how the story is going to fit in with the gameplay. I also don't think them being the director means they had total control over the narrative and story of the game. Based on what I've seen with Avowed and what Stephanie has said in her (Stephanie please let me know if you prefer a pronoun of their instead of her if that aligns better with the she/them pronouns listed on your bsky account as I wasn't sure but am always happy to be educated) review the game seems like everything around the combat is just a wrapper and list of checkboxes to sell to the masses without rocking the boat or challenging anyone.
