RECORD Resolume Output (best quality and performance) WINDOWS

First of all, yes, you can record directly inside Resolume, and over the years, this tool has gotten better. However, the performance is not the best, and from my experience, it drops too many frames. You can test this by activating the record window: VIEW > SHOW RECORD.

It is crucial for me to record Resolume output in the best quality and performance at 60fps without dropping frames. Over the last few years, I have figured out that this is my favorite workflow:

RESOLUME > SPOUT > OBS > MP4

I use Spout to send the Resolume output to OBS, where I record it in MP4 (H.264) at a high bitrate on a fast SSD. My current setup includes a Samsung EVO PRO 980. It’s also beneficial to have an NVIDIA GPU, as it enables hardware encoding for MP4.

What is Spout?

Spout leverages your graphics card, allowing you to send real-time video between Windows applications with near-zero latency or overhead. If you want to learn more, check it out here: https://spout.zeal.co

The setup is simple, and you only need to do it once!

This tutorial is for WINDOWS only. On Mac, you will need Syphon or NDI instead of Spout.
