Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

Severance 1x9 Uncut Reaction

Poor Helly her existence is a PR stunt. Are Helly and Helena so very different at their core? They both seemed strong willed and determined but Helena was raised in a cult.

MarisoL

I think the key thing with severance for giving birth isn't that she doesn't want to remember the pain, but that she doesn't want to experience it in the first place. And think about the severed personality who only exists to give birth: she would only know a short life of pain, and she would never know the child. She would also be frightened and confused--think Helly waking up on the table, but giving birth instead! And like a lot about Severance, it's not necessarily so far removed from the world we live in. There are celebrities and other rich women who have surrogates so that they don't have to go through with the bodily changes that come with pregnancy.

Kate

This is probably one of the best season finales of any show I have ever seen. I remember literally being on the edge of my seat for the entire episode. It’s so stressful but also so so freaking good. Yall are lucky you can just jump right into season 2! Great reaction, you two!! I wasn’t one of the poor souls who had to wait 3 years but I did have to wait about 4 months…I watched the show for the first time last fall but it was the first show I watched on Apple TV and honestly, they have some really good shows that held me over till the new season started.

Ms. Casey told Irving in his wellness session that his outie likes the sound of radar. His dog's name is Radar .

Mama Browsss

Phenomenal episode and reaction

Moonman

Kier Eagan is the founder of Lumon and created a cult following where he’s seen as a god by many. (Like Natalie and Cobel. That’s why they say “praise Kier” and “Graner lies with Kier” kind of nonsense…) Well Kier is long dead and his son Jame Eagan became CEO, and Helly is the daughter of Jame. So not only is Hellys outtie a supporter of severance, she’s a direct descendant of the founder and grew up in the cult. They completely don’t see the innies as real people. (They’re basically just slaves for confidentiality and efficiency) Helly only did the procedure as a publicity stunt because of how controversial severance had become in the world to say “hey I’m an Eagan and I’m gonna do this to show how great severance really is” (Like, I would never advertise a product I don’t use type of deal) Maybe you got all that, but I feel like her being a direct descendant of the founder part slipped your mind or you just didn’t get to that in the discussion.

Cooper

Exactly. All the actors are fantastic, creating subtle distinctions between their innies & outies - but Britt Lower (Helly/Heleana) is on another level. She's knocked it out of the park from E1. Milchick's actor is incredible as well, so cheerfully menacing

Robin Lee Melendez

i feel spartans distrust for media when you're about to get a big moment waiting for them to pull the plug right before the plan pans out and i love how the plan actually works in this case. that's more of a twist than anything is they totally pull it off...2/3 got a significant message out - if i had to guess, devon will definitely try to do something about it and i feel like helly's will fall on deaf ears considering the room was there to endorse lumon so i'd imagine it'd be covered up i wonder if irv got cut there or something significant will actually come from burt opening the door, if he opens the door

Steven

I wanted to say this so bad in the comments of the episode when the picture of Gemma was revealed after Mark ripped it up… Pudgey shouted “SHES NOT DEAD!!!!” 😃

Bill B.

Yeah that is a scary thought. That poor innie! The only time she is “activated” is her going through the most painful experience that exists for human beings. That’s got to be the worst!!!

Bill B.

It’s literally tense for every second of this entire episode!

Bill B.

This show is literally designed for a rewatch. I remember when you guys watched the episode when the 4 visit the Perpetuity Wing, and Helly R stops for a moment and stares at one of the statues… and in episode 9 it’s revealed that that’s a statue of her father!! That blew my mind, there is some sort of residual memory. And there tons of other tiny clues that you can only really pickup on a rewatch. This show is so well written and edited and the acting is amazing, it is one of the best ever so far. And yes it has been renewed for a Season 3, it likely won’t be as long of a wait (in the US there was a writer’s strike after S1 that certainly pushed things back), but still likely a while because apparently the director Ben Stiller does like 20 takes of everything, and some scenes take an entire day of shooting. But hey it results in such an amazing product!!!

Bill B.

I have been waiting for this reaction ever since episode 1!!!!! Can’t wait!!!

Bill B.

is it the tallest episode in the world

Now you've seen enough Severance and Expanse to understand how DARK, Severance and The Expanse are 3 of my all-time favorite shows.

Sheri

I think Cobel initially told Mark to get away from them because she'd just gotten fired and had no stakes in it anymore. But she seemingly also has some attachment or personal interest in him, she's stalking him for a reason. Maybe she also genuinely meant it? She's such a nuanced character, it feels like her comments and actions are telling us SO much but...it's in a language we can't understand yet lol Spartan is right, telling one person to leave and exposing the truth about the company to the world (and her role in it) are two different things. I can see why she would not want the latter to happen.

Raven Sub

This is my 4th time seeing this finale and it still stresses me out LOL

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

I WAITED THREEEEEEE YEEEEEEEAARSS!

Sheri

Every time I think about how that woman’s innie is only awake when she’s pregnant and just about to give birth I get so so sad. She loves the baby immediately and unconditionally and doesn’t even get a chance to see it outside of the cabin. Her only job is to literally be a broodmare :(

Ariadne Eurydice

One of the very best season finales ever: gives you more of what you want than you actually expected, and yet also leaves you hanging big time. And starts with a massive twist.

Julien

Believe it or not you have not seen the best episode of Severance yet.

Capone

The physical body is shared, but the thought processes and memories are not. Since severance isn't perfect, that is why some things bleed through to the innies from the outies. Irv was staying up late drinking coffee and listening to metal so he could sleep at work and have some idea of what goes on as his outie. Just my guess, I think Irv was doing some type of background investigative work on severed employees. He had them separated from the other employees. Cobel/Selvig is really weird and sick. Helly R had a very strange awakening. So happy Mark found the photo of Gemma. Season 2 soon? I already watched it. They have promised not to have 3 years between 2 and 3. There was a writers strike between 1 and 2.

Lyn Hurst

Best reaction ever 😁

C.80

Dylan wasn't lying when he said he has the strength of two men lol, hold up wasn't miss Casey's actor on "Neighbors"? Lol

Crispin

She’s ALIVEEEEE!!!

Brieanne

Cannot wait to watch your reaction!!! One of my fav finales ever

Cassidy Skye

The showrunners COOKED putting one of the protagonists and antagonists in the same body.
