The Walking Dead 2x7 Uncut Reaction

Comments

Too true. If he was left in charge, it would eventually end up being just him, Lori, and Carl left, and there's no way Lori and Carl would survive that.

SDSavvy

Shane is wrong to force his will on not only his own group of survivors, but on the family who has graciously provided them safe haven. We all know Hershel is wrong about walkers, but that doesn't justify Shane's actions in this episode. I'm sure neither Rick nor Hershel would have objected to keeping a lookout posted in/at the barn once the secret was out, but Shane couldn't be bothered to discuss that or any options with them. It was just his way or bust. He's letting his bruised ego over Lori's choosing Rick over him spin him out of control. Conversations (and actions) in past episodes have shown that his views on women lean more towards women as property to use/own/protect rather than towards women as partners to respect/protect. He can't respect her choice because property/objects don't get to choose who they belong to.

SDSavvy

Shane is the worst on my list I have no Idea how they don’t see him for who he is

ramon hernandez

Shane is a "what you see is what you " get type of guy. He kinda fell out my good graces when he was acting like that toward Dale in this episode. Of course, you guys are entitled to have your perspective on how you see Shane but it does feel kinda biasey all round. Maybe that might change for you later, or maybe not. However, I do agree that the barn thing needed to happen - hershells stubborn feelings over reality did annoy me quite a bit the first time I watched. Love your reactions guys, keep it up! 💕

Makeeba

Feral Rick > Shane

Travis L

I meant to say that I know by the time I’m commenting that you have already seen the next few episodes, so I won’t be spoiling anything 😀

Bev Morton

Shane is only concerned about saving Lori and now the baby (and yes, Carl) but he doesn’t care about the group. He is obsessed with his love for Lori & can’t give it up. Shane started off a bad ass who i respected but now he is completely falling off. He doesn’t even care about young lives. I know by the time I’m commenting so I can safely say without spoiling that Shane gets much worse. I’m curious to see how much love and appreciation you give him in a few episodes.

Bev Morton

finally smart reactors who see Shane knows best always

Milf and Cookies

The problem with Shane is he only cares about keeping Lori, Carl and himself alive.... he doesn't care about the group. He even told Lori this during their conversation in the hall. He didn't want to help them in season 1 when they were trapped at the department store either. Rick cares about the whole group. If Glenn didn't stick his neck out for Rick... he would have died in that tank.... If Rick didn't stick his neck out for Glenn when that gang kidnapped him then Glenn might have died too. Shane wouldn't risk himself for the good of the group... just Lori and Carl. They have to risk for each other... not just the few they really care about. It is the GROUP that makes them strong... not just Shane... not just Rick, but all of them together fighting for each other. Shane is right about some things but he isn't a good leader because he thinks he can do it himself and that the group just isn't important enough for his survival.

Korivex

Ngl that season 2 poster gives me goosebumps... so freaking ICONIC

Kristoffer Smedegaard

It's just an incredibly biased standpoint, and why are you talking about morals when your favorite character is Shane, like what?

Guadalupe Rosas

Hey, I like Shane's character too, but you guys were way too harsh on Lori. Shane can do just about anything, and you guys are like I get it but when Lori does something, oh, she can't do that.

Guadalupe Rosas

Character bias from the actor

DRIP DROP

He’s a great character and highlights the world they live in now enhancing mannerisms and characteristics that already existed in the character. Great character does not equal a morally good character lol. Their love for Shane is wild.

Christopher

Shane is a selfish, narcissistic, megalomaniacal, sociopathic psycho

Christopher

Hi Sam, we based our prices at the time off the channels we were following, we are aware some are lower and some are higher, this has worked for us and we haven't had any significant negative feedback thus far. we appreciate everyone's affordability is different and we're sorry to hear it feels a bit too expensive, we have tried to (in our on perspective) provide a variety of tiers to match with everyone's affordability while valuing our patreon within the market range, albeit on the higher end but we feel this reflects the quality and effort we put into our reactions, analysis and discussions. you may not share that and we understand, we encourage you to do what is best for you and we appreciate any and all support you have given us. thanks for enjoying our reactions

CpaSpartan Pudgey

Idk what show your watching 😆 Shane makes the easy selfish decisions, come on. I love to hear the diffrent perspective but your way to far on Shane's side. He literally pointed a gun at Rick.

Jermaine Lee

Hello guys, I’m a long term fan of you and I just wanted to express how ridiculous your prices are for Patreon, I’ve subbed to you previous for Peaky and I have done the same for TWD, I couldn’t believe I had to pay what I did for the newest watch alongs? Don’t get me wrong I love you guys. But I can literally watch all of badd medicines reactions for a fiver???? Is anyone else feeling fleeced right now? So disappointed guys

Sam Hackett

Shane forcing Hershel to confront the reality of the new world, smart, evil, spur of the moment error? Who knows. Jon Bernthal is such a good actor, and his delivery often reminds me of Bryan Cranston, you want to root for him no matter what he does. I don't agree with him, yet he hypes me up nearly enough to join his team. And then there's Rick trying to play diplomacy. I would want to be Rick but it's not easy when you're asked to corral literal zombies into a barn, yet he was willing to do that, with significant risk to himself, to try and convince Hershel they're worthy to stay on his property. Will he let them stay after this fiasco, and how will Carol process the finality of Sophia... at least she has closure now.

Paul

I would LOVE a Love, Like, Hate list. I feel like the characters and dynamics shift throughout the series enough that it would be worth it.

Malorie

this was definitely one of the first major twists in the series so far! I was so heart broken for Carol when Sophia came out of the barn. It's been so long since I first watched these eps when they aired so it feels fresh watching it with you guys.

Malorie

The first season's pacing was uniquely fast with so many locations per episode - going forward it's more like this with a central location and episodes of setup and getting to know characters before they punch you in the emotional gut. Shane is definitely a badass, people sometimes forget that when watching TV you can root for bad people, and Shane is worth rooting for until the end imo!

Leo

I think Lori is insisting that Rick is the father because she wants to preserve her marriage to Rick, but most importantly, protect Carl. Imagine what would go through his mind if he found out that his new brother or sister might be Shane’s or Rick’s? Love for Carl is motivating Lori now, ever since he recovered.

Bill B.

I also think this series is perfect for a “Love, Like, Hate” or maybe a tier ranking after each season. No spoilers here but let’s use some logic. 1) we are in a world where just being in the wrong place at the wrong time can get you bitten, and a bite equals death. (Amy and Ed are good examples from S1). It’s not like those two were powerhouses essential to the story in season 1, but if Andrea had been bit instead of Amy, would you have felt any different at the time? Maybe Amy goes on, has Andrea’s same storyline/relationship with Dale, develops a thing for Shane, etc.? 2) it had 11 seasons. In this environment that means many will die but we will also have to pick up some new main characters. One or both of you pointed out in this episode that they’ve built up Maggie so much this season w her interactions with Glenn it must be for a reason. And I’d also consider Hershel a main character by this point and Patricia is I think at this point getting almost the same amount of lines and screen time as T-Dog. T-Dog was a badass in season 1 but after his injury he’s taken a back seat. Patricia is new in S2 and has been vital to helping save Carl’s life, which involved losing her husband Otis. 3) great stories are character driven and not plot driven. So far this show has been excellent. And we’ve already seen some serious character arcs developing… Glenn is changing, so is Andrea, and Daryl went from “Merle’s brother with a crossbow” in season 1 to a very complex character so far. I guess my point is if you do the LLH you just might find different characters in different slots at the end of every season, and it would be so worth it! 👍

Bill B.

Yes, but I think it was very symbolic that Rick, who was kind of torn between Shane’s wanting to kill all the barn walkers, and actually helping Hershel bring walkers to the barn… it was Rick who stepped up and put down Sophia.

Bill B.

I love his character but the Shane glazing is kinda crazy lmao. Yall were happy with the way he was acting towards Dale? Shane isn't misunderstood 🤣🤣🤣. The show it litterally SHOWING you what this world can do to people. What it changes you into.

Tae Kellz

It’s funny how rules of humanity/decency don’t apply in this new world when it benefits Shane, but Lori still has to follow the old world rules of humanity by acknowledging whether or not Shane is the father. At this point Shane just gets a free pass because he’s a “badass” and makes the “hard decisions” even though it’s Rick who kills Sophia in the end.

aw

I wrote a book last night, and somehow it didn't get saved. I have watched this episode 4 times now. I didn't let myself take in the sadness until this watch with you guys. The Sophia reveal thrashed me this time seeing you guys taking it in for the first time. Carol broke me and Lori holding Carl and telling him not to look as Rick started to move towards her. The cast acting was superb on all accounts in this episode.

Lyn Hurst

CLOCK IT!!!

Anaya Imari

In TWD, this is known as the midseason finale (final episode before the show goes on a shorter like 2-3 month break), which is why it’s so hype, they typically fall on episode 8s except this season, maybe you could do your love/like/hate on the midseason & season finales, im sure you’ll have a lot of changes of opinion and as you said more characters, this show has plentyyyyyy

A.D

One of the best episodes of television ever. Peak walking dead

Nathan Cutter

Just let them watch

Kristoffer Smedegaard

Yes I give a 10 for the hair on both Spartan and Pudgey this video.

Lyn Hurst

Bill we learn that next episode.

Lyn Hurst

Yes Shane would be good in a Mad Max movie.

Lyn Hurst

He doesn't think first. He lives purely by his emotions which are all over the place. Pretty toxic. I was getting some serial killer vibes from him with his intense stares at Lori and Dale as he is confronting them. I would not feel safe with him around Carl unless a walker came around. Shane is good about killing them.

Lyn Hurst

Are you guys ok? You are completely blind to how the show is portaying shane and to what of a character he is supposed to be its almost funny.

MO

I don’t think Shane was incapable of putting Sophia down. I saw him just taking it in like everyone else and not wanting to shoot her too in front of the group since he was already being insensitive to the other group as it was. Then him being the first to say “she’s gone” it would have been in really bad taste to immediately shoot her himself. That would’ve been more insulting to his own group which may be different for him. Still stands that Rick was the first to take action but I do think Shane could and would have done it if no one else did.

ShanB

The Shane love is actually pretty funny considering this episode is supposed to tell you that Shane is mentally unwell. He's also a huge hypocrite. He claims he's the one who makes the hard choices, but he's not. He always makes the easy choice. Sacrificing Otis (someone he doesn't know) to potentially save Carl was the easy choice. He only cares about himself and Lori/Carl to an extent. Whereas Rick cares about everyone (including strangers) and is the one who actually makes the hard choice. That's what the ending shows you. Shooting a bunch of people you don't know is easy. Shane was all talk. As soon as Sophia came out, he shut up real quick and it was Rick who had to step up.

Evan

Exactly like Shane is an amazing written character but the bias is kinda crazy lol.

JonSnow21

Facts

JonSnow21

Shane was goated in this episode and nobody can deny that but like I’ve been saying he’s not very intelligent, Rick was thinking big picture bc he needs Hershel needs to deliver the baby and Shane doesn’t think long term and was a hot head as usual even if you agree with clearing out the barn , he executed it terribly and look at the end Shane putting his head down when he saw Sophia , guess who actually stepped up and killed Sophia , Rick!!!. He is the leader bc he’s smarter and it’s kinda hilarious how y’all agreed with Shane saying Rick isn’t built for this world, We’ll see bc Rick is easily more built for this world than Shane and more mentally strong. Lol you guys are making me hate on Shane even though he’s an all time character.

JonSnow21

I was waiting so much for the reaction to this episode. I could not take my eyes out of you guys in Sophia's scene. LOL. I agree with Spartan when he says that Shane is a badass character, and he is really well written indeed, but when I first saw this episode I started hating him for his cowardly. He was all that time freaking out about the fact that Hershel was dealing with the walkers as they were still people. And wanted Hershel to see the things for what they really are. Amazing speech of him when he shoot the walkers to demonstrate his pov. But everythig he said become a huge hipocrisy when he coudn't kill Sophia and Rick had to take the responsibility for something that he was all the time trying to deal in a better way. Shane was the one to blame, and he act like a chicken facing Sophia. I hate him so much for that.

Raphael Aguiar

Im up for that too.

Raphael Aguiar

I loved how Shane talks big game the whole episode and then it is Rick who makes the hardest choice by shooting Sophia while Shane is standing there frozen.

Gigi

They are in a literal zombie apocalypse where humanity is dying. I think to expect Shane to be like "hey maybe i'm in the wrong here for comforting this woman I love who is alone in this world now" is a bit wild lol.

Ryan

I get why people hate Shane (weaklings), but I love his character. He's just a realist through and through. He risks his life for the people he loves. People who watch the show try to imagine some superior selfless version of themselves who would always do the "moral" thing instead of doing whatever it takes to survive...but in reality most people in this scenario would also do whatever it takes to survive. Shane is a real one. He's who survivors would want leading them in an extremely harsh world. Rick makes for good television...but hardly anyone would do what he does such as going back into a zombie-filled Atlanta the day you are reunited with your wife and child to clear your conscience of some meth head lol. Its only inevitable for Shane to explode like he did with the barn after all the trash he's been through. Especially after Lori said that to him about her pregnancy.

Ryan

Pudgey always cute ☺️ but come on my boy spartan looks clean in this video. Hair, beard and all lol 👍🏻

Elias Flores

Yeap! This is the episode i was waiting for 🥹 It just gets crazy from here! Great acting by shane (Jon Bernthal) thats why people loved him back then when he did TWD and after that so many doors opened for him. He still one of the best actors till this day! Forever team shane💀

Elias Flores

I can't stand shane but he is too badass😭 maybe its cause I love the actor but his potrayal of the character is amazing. I can't picture anybody else doing shane like he does. there's a reason this episode is in the top 10 highest rated episodes of the entire show.

ilona

i definitely was not a huge fan of lori on my first watch of twd and by no means is she a perfect person, but i think too many people put ALL of the blame on her for sleeping with shane when shane is also very much in the wrong for that. he never stopped to consider that maybe it was wrong to sleep with her while she was in such a vulnerable headspace, literally grieving because she believed her husband was dead. not to mention he told lori that “it was a long time coming”, implying that even before the apocalypse he was interested in her. to me that makes it feel less like a coping mechanism for him and more like him taking advantage of the chaos to finally act on the feelings he’d already been harboring

lucy

Tuhhh y’all really love y’all some Shane. Shane said Rick isn’t built for this world? Lol, yeah we’ll see about that. 👌🏾👌🏾

Anaya Imari

That's what I'm saying! People always say it's glazing but common it's entertaining as fuck and badass - even if it is wrong lol.

Alexander Oceann

“WHAT IS THAT! WHAT IS THAT” LMAOOOO CLASSIC! I love Shane as a created character! Is he A HORRIBLE PERSON in the world they are in? YES! But damn I love this episode! By far my favorite of Shane lmaooo “LISTEN MAN LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!” 😭😭😭😭

Anaya Imari

Rick had the strength to clean up Shane's mess. At this point in the show Shane is 100% more dangerous than the walkers

Demo

A lot different when one of the walkers is one of their own eh???

Demo

One of my favorite episodes! Always love your discussions - although I can't fully get on board with your Shane love. LOL What he did to Otis did me in. With all the fighting and hair-pulling between the two, there was time for them to both potentially get away.

Jennrw13

Shane, again, was directing his rage without any thought. If Lori didnt throw the kid being Rick's in his face, Shane wouldnt have charged the Barn. He's a mental midget.

Farbod

What a banger of an episode!

Alex Walker

Frankly I think Shane did the right thing in this episode, despite his recklessness and him being quite mental. As for Lori, I also agree with her, there's no way to know whose kid it is and she should assume its Rick's and Shane should accept it and move on, for the simple fact that Rick is her husband. The way she said it to him may have been harsh, but in that moment Shane was trying to undermine Rick's leadership, she has a right to be mad there imo.

James Waters

I agree being at the end of the day that’s Rick’s wife and it could any of them

ariel mermaid

I mean no paternity tests at the end of the world. Shane’s penance to Rick for the ultimate betrayal should be to watch his potential kid being raised by Rick and never knowing whether it’s his. I don’t think that’s ok to make Rick watch his best friend and wife raise a child in his face when none of this ever should have happened. It’s definitely to hell with Shane’s feelings on that one for me

ShanB

Also incredible writing so far. We learn that Otis was the one who used to bring walkers to the barn. He left to get supplies w Shane before even knowing about Sophia. He never made it back from the trip to save Carl, if he had …. There’d be no Sophia storyline, and that more than anything gives us an insight into Daryl’s character.

Bill B.

That was one hell of an acting performance by Jon Bernthal!! And the Sophia reveal at the end! Been looking forward to this one for so long!

Bill B.

Fax he's not a leader he's the type to back stabe his friends just if it meant he or his family will survive yes at times you might have to be like that but he will always pick his family over anything and everything

Josh

There's one thing that always bothers me and so many people seem to overlook. In the CDC when Shane almost SA'd Lori, he tells her that what they had was real and "a long time coming". He was pining for his best friends wife before the world fell apart. He isn't a good person, and it didn't take the zombies for that to happen.

Amber

I like Shane sometimes but I think we need to be honest with ourselves. That man do not care about the group. I'm pretty sure he admits that lmao. He cares about Lori and Carl lol. If he wasn't so obsessed with them he would be a better person for the group.

Aya

Your haircut looks nice Spartan! :) <3

PokeTheBear

Shane had the right idea with the WRONG execution. Rick was taking the diplomatic approach, trying to secure a spot for the group on the farm long term. Everyone knew how Hershel felt about the walkers. Shane snapped, acted all badass and caused mass hysteria. He was all macho until Sofia walked out. Then he got all emotional and put his head down. In the end, Rick was the one who stepped up and finished it.

DRIP DROP

All the way through to the series finale or just the 2nd season’s finale?

Clayton Carson

I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH YESSSSS

Elora D. Dragneel

Y’all should 100% do a love/hate list

Distrxct *

Fair enough you love Shane... I guess lol. I love him as a character, but he was completely wrong in doing this. Not thinking about consequences. Very hot head. And when Sophia came out the barn... Head down... Guess who had to clean Shane's mess up, and step up? Rick.

Oriana Lo Presti

That is enough

Joseph Campbell

Love this episode. Once Sophia walks out of the barn, Rick and the rest of the group feel the same pain as Hershel.

Nicole

The looks on your faces as the video starts says it all. This intro was a struggle, wasn't it? xD

Terje Mickelson

Yes, walkers smell... but they also HEAR

Oriana Lo Presti

love your hair Pudgey. You always look so pretty!
