I'm here again to talk about some sweet things! I didn't upload too much covers in June, but I recorded a few and worked on different things as well. Oh well, I love music so much!
Firstly about covers. During June I tabbed a lot of songs (I wrote about them in my previous cover diary post) and also recorded at least three! I said at least because I can't remember well. I'm sure I have recorded The Strokes covers and I will upload them all in July, so it will be like a Strokes-month! These songs are Welcome to Japan (planning since February), Meet Me in the Bathroom and What Ever Happened. In this latter song, I will be playing the solo as well, of course! Debut of my guitar!
Secondly about my guitar! When I practiced this solo of What Ever Happened, I recorded to her a fast version. When I waited to my computer to render the file, I started to messing around on my guitar. I wrote a riff accidentally, I liked it so much that in 2 days I finished my first song on guitar. One week later I finished an other song on guitar. So accidentally I started to work on my next original album. I don't have exact plans now, I think I will abandon this project for a while, but it will be so nice to have two songs already when I will be starting to make it seriously. Tab book will be coming with it as I wrote them down to myself not to forget the songs. My friends like these songs, one of them hooked a bit and didn't believe that I wrote and recorded it.
It's a really big storm here as I wrote these lines. I'm writing it on my phone without internet, so I have time to write more stuff, mostly pointless stuff. Funfact about me, I hate storms. When I was a kid I was always hiding under our table in the kitchen or yi made bunkers out of quilts. I thought that I should mess around on my guitar until the storm ends itself, but well, it would be just another song and I want to focus on covers now.
As we are here and already writing a lot, I would like to take the opportunity to tell a big thank you to everybody who is supporting me. It means a lot to me, it's a really good feeling that yi can help to a lot of people and these people appreciate my work so much! Thank you very much! :)
Well, it's a really long storm, so here's a fast FAQ. I get a lot of comments asking about these things, so exclusively I will answer them to my supporters! :D
Will I do Science Fiction, as it's my last Arctic Monkeys song from TBHC left?
- Yes, of course.
Will I make b-sides as well by them?
- Yes, of course.
Which bass do I have?
- SX '75 Jazz Bass LTD3, it's always in the description.
Will I do more Interpol covers?
- I love their music, I love Carlos D, so at some point I'm sure I will do.
Which program do I use to record covers?
- Oh, it's a good question, I wanted to write about it in this post! Maybe the first cover of this month will be a bit slow, because I'm switching from Audacity to Reaper. It's a lot better, but so many things to learn about it! I made my guitar songs with it and it was so amazing to work with Reaper! I hope the quality of my covers will be better as well.
Will I finish The New Abnormal?
- Yes of course, but to make a tab for Eternal Summer for example is not too easy sadly.
How I write these tabs?
- I'm listening to these songs countless times, repeating several parts over and over and trying to solve it on my bass. I never do them on one day, to listen them with fresh ears is an important part of the process. In 1-3 days I make the first version, then correcting it, everyday until I can't find anything to change. Sometimes it's a few days, sometimes it's two weeks, I'm a quality over quantity guy. :) Oh I write them in notepad!
I think these are my most frequentely asked questions, so finally I gave answer to them! Yay!
